Yaya - We needed a midfielder that can "own" the middle and strike fear into the opposition
Kolarov - We needed a top quality left back to give Bridge a kick up the arse to train harder
Silva - We needed an attacking midfielder who can use amazing skill to open up the likes of Stoke who defend from their 6 yard line
Boateng - We needed a right back who can stop a cross coming in from the left wing
Balotelli - Adebayor and Tevez needed striking support - Can't rely on RSC to be fit or Robinho to be mentally stable
