I feel SO sorry for Yaya!

If you watched the full game you will notice he gives an option to nearly every player he can, hardly ever loses possesion. Then he gives it to mongs like barry , de jong ,richards and even zabaleta when he came on to just give the ball away with long stupid balls to silva and swp!

For me swp didnt have the best of games but he was far from the worse player out there for me, richards was by far the worst ive seen him by a looooooooong way. I really dont get why "world class players" play long balls too strikers and wingers not above 5"8.

Sorry yaya hopefully they will pick up some of your class in training mate, you was my man of the match behind hart.

He really is a Rolls Royce isn't he? Superb to watch, effortless movement gave us so much more control today. Although I think Hart deserves MOM for his ridiculous string of match saving saves in 1st half.

He's basically Vieira in his prime.

He's going to dominate the midfield, most of our attacking play will start with him making the right pass and he will be a ig presence infront of defence.

Ahhhhhh, sorry Yaya..............what a pile of shit.

He did alright, not enough for us to feel sorry for him. He looked tidy enough but didn't do anywhere near enough for us to start apologising for the rest of team for him.

He'll do well but didn't influence the game as much as he would have wanted and I'm sure he'd be horrified if he knew you were making excuses for him.

It's clear to see he will be immense. That was about as fast a baptism as you get in the Premier, so wait til he gets used to the pace.

Agree with you there mate, I didn't think he was as immense as some are trying to say. Yes, he did well, but only as well as the rest. He was caught in possession a couple of times and had a few misplaced passes.

Agree. Great player when he settles in but was nothing more than alright today. Had some great & some awful moments. Needs time, as do all the new players.

he gave the ball away because no other city player gave him an option, so he was closed down. When a city player had the ball he gave them an option there is the diffrence.

Nobody is saying he is shit, just saying he wasn't as good as you make out. It will take a while for this team to really click and moving into space is one of those things that will be worked on. It doesn't really help that there wasn't too much up front for him either.

There must have been another 6ft 2 black geezer in midfield alongside him that I mistook him for then.

Yeah im not forcing my opinion on people im just giving it, i just think he was our best player except for heart and toure. Because we was under the kosh alot. I just havent seen that kind of player in citys midfield for years.

I think he's going to be a fantastic signing but imo he wasn't even at 50% today. None of the new players are match fit imo.

They were half and half for me. Kolo, Vince, Yaya, Micah, Kolaro/Zab should be nearly there. Players like Carlos, Silva and Nige are still behind the pace due to their extended stay in the WC, and Barry, Joe and Shaun played the full 90 in midweek leaving them a little jaded.

The aim of today's game was not to lose and that's why we played so many defensive players. If anything, I felt a little sorry for Shaun today as he had the impossible job of covering for Micah and trying to help Carlos at the front. A few times I seen him sprinting from the back while Micah at the ball, he got forward (usually the most forward as well) only for us to lose it leaving Shaun well out of position for his defensive duties, and even so, was still there before Micah.

Well said Ted. We're gonna need a bit of patience on this for a few weeks.
Players will soon get to know each other and get up to speed.
We survived a massive hurdle today...next is L'Pool, get through that and we have a chance to breathe a little.
We're probably behind where we'd ideally like to be but we'll get there soon.

I agree 100% about swp and not sure which will be tougher todays game or the one against the scouse.

Was caught in possession a couple of times himself too.

Struggled with the pace at times. A baptism of fire.

But his passing on the whole was exellent and some great balls over the top that SWP spooned.

Felt when we were in possesion he and De Jong often got in each others way. The pair of them were covering similar ground and narrowing us. You could say the same for Silva and Tevez.

And calling players like De Jong and Barry mongs, Micah yeah but I thought the other two did ok today. De Jong made some telling tackles today. Everyone of our players gave the ball away cheaply today and I hope that Mancini works on this as it will kill us agaisnt your Man Us and Chelseas.
