how do i get to timisoara?

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

how do i get to timisoara?

Postby s1ty m » Sun Aug 15, 2010 10:43 am

As it says, how?

I had a look at Google Earth and the town is in Western Romania, so cslightly closer.

I am flirting with the idea of flying to somewhere close and then bus/train to the town. 1 night in a hotel and then back home. Anyone done any digging to find a route? The flight search websites are crap. Couldn't see a thread on this, so I am assuming I may be alone?!

Belgrade or Budapest? Has to be Budapest, don't fancy Serbia.

I suppose I could drive it!

According to the Romania tourist website http://www.romaniatourism.com/timisoara.html there are direct flights from Vienna. The airport is six miles from the city.

Just what I thought when I saw the thread title.

Further to my last post in this thread, ignore. It seems there are regular flights from Manchester to Timisoara with Lufthansa, changing at Munich. £407.54 all in return is the best price quoted here.
I've also found an hotel which is apparently near the stadium, four star, all in price, hotel and travel, £539.18.

Yeah - S1TY obviously hasn't watched those old Peter Cushing films. Then there's that Vlad fella who impaled all his enemies (whole armies) with sharpened stakes up their arses and up through their mouths.

Well dodgy.

Right this from bluemong..hurry up if not on the bus yet.

Right then.

We've got a 49-seater coach, and about ten places left. From Bluemoon:
berryblue is on it
mcfcmatt and his mate are on it
Fanny Fart - Sent you a PM
blue wine - Sent you a PM, but have three pencilled in

It's looking at about £20 or so. That includes fuel, toll charges, and accomodation for the driver, match ticket and food for him. We're not doing this to make money, so the more go on, the cheaper it is.

We'll leave at about 10/11am Thursday, and probably the same sort of time Friday, although I just picked that time out my head, it's not set in stone.

If anyone else wants on it, send me a PM, and if you definately want one it, if you give me the names of the people travelling, just to make sure that I'm not duplicating people!

Surely that's not £20 from Manc and back is it?!
