I was invited along to a testing day for City Square today, photo's can be seen at http://www.mcdsa.co.uk/citysquare.html Overall was very impressed, food was of a good quality and being free made it even better. Still a few finishing touches need to be made but will be a great addition to the pre-match build up

whats the blue moon cafe like?

Looks good and there should be a fair few people frequenting it, especially at weekend fixtures. Good to see they have made it inclusive as well; subtle, but very nice.

It all looks great and it is a brilliant idea they have come up with but what are the prices like for the food and drink? I was astounded when i was charged £3.90 for a pint at the valencia game, i mean £4 for a pint!!!! What is the world coming to?

I think i'll stick to the local pubs and a chippy if thats the case and i reckon thousands more will. Put it this way, if the burgers were £2.50 as well as the pints, they would get alot more passing trade when a burger and pint cost a fiver rather than having to choose between one of the other for the same price.

Looks pretty good....good to see the club taking the time and effort to design something like that with ALL fans in mind (I was noting the comments about the table design allowing wheelchair users to get right up to them with their legs underneath). It won't be for everyone (in terms of taste, ambience and pricing but it's an option for those who want it.....I was thinking notably families with smaller kids who want to get their pre-rush and let their youngsters benefit from the build-up and spare themselves the arseache of arriving just for kick-off. Also allows mums and dads to have a pre-match beer without having to have the kids squashed in the concourse....or in a boozer (...actually is that allowed??)).

Lots of people will of course stick to their traditional routine of Mary D's, Townley...wherever....pre-match and I don't think the club is trying to pull in those punters to be honest. If some of them choose to come then fine but seems clear that this is not aimed at them directly.

HOWEVER....what would be a good use for this area would be screening our away games. Obv there is an issue that you wouldn't want rags and the like in there but that is manageable (entry via showing a citycard, membership card, season card or even applying for an entry voucher online etc. Be good to have somewhere with decent big screens and an all blue crowd to watch the game and that looks perfect IMO

Not sure the area in front of the store would be big enough for that considering the turn out for the screenings last year, they could make it all standing but that would kill their inclusive remit

Prices were displayed on TV screens above the servinf areas, didn't take enough notice to be able to quote any, but they looked reasonable

Just drove through ground it's a hive of activity the giant screen looks fantastic and lots of workers making the place look the business. The only downer is the pissin rain grrrrr

I never drink at the ground mainly down to the fookin vertical prices, but also due to the fact that you have to wait ages for a shite 'pint'.. I just stay in the pub for an extra one and get to the ground about 15mins before ko. Also opt for the chippy.

I might treat myself to a Balti pie at half time but Iv heard a truely aweful rumour that they have added currants to them??? Please oh please tell me this isnt true??

I stopped with the Balti pies about 10 years ago when they seemingly did away with the chicken, so I wont be able to confirm or deny such rumours for you later.

It looks good I might take my lad there on Thursday if it's open
