James Milner.

Deserves his own thread.

Outstanding on his debut, a workhorse defensively and offensively with cracking technical quality. Fit in like he'd played at city since he was a 10 year old.

He is going to be a massive player for us this season.

Oh and anyone want Ireland back? Thought not.

I said 3 years ago that when Ireland was the weakest link in our side we'd have one hell of a side.

Fuck 16 mil and Ireland..let's give them 32 mil just for the sake of it

the guy is absolute fucking class and is without doubt the missing link/engine we were looking for

fucking bargain

He looks to have that same grit of the mould of Bellers. Very promising player, will be consistant and hard working, something we need to balance the team over all the skill we have.

That.

We got the bargain in this deal.

Delighted with Milner. Defo the missing piece of the city puzzle!

The man is class, but some would rather have Ireland.... the mind boggles

He was good tonight. I just think we should be careful speaking this highly of anyone after just one game. Especially against a team missing it's best defensive player.

Milner is proven over the past couple of season for his workrate and desire.

One game or one hundred games, he will still be the same, giving 100% every single week.

Villa will struggle this season without him IMO

He's a driver, every top team needs them. He does say "as you say" alot in interviews though, so just a 9.8 out of 10 for me.

Loved that piece of skill when he left jovanavic for dead, but i was impressed with the tracking back he did and i think we will see even better things from him than at vill because he has so many good players around him.

The champion we needed, absolutely! God save the Queen and, from now, James Milner too!

And he wasn't in his own preferred position... I can imagine him in centre midfield playing behind a strike which will give us another dimension.
We have so many players who are versatile position wise.. FFS even Lescott looked half decent as a full back
