Excellent report on City v Liverpool in The Telegraph. Some people on here have moaned about him but the guy knows football, he can write in complete sentences, and he gives credit where it's due. Tonight he gave it all to City. (Shame he seemed to think Milner scored the first goal, though, maybe he'll fix that by morning.)

He still makes excuses that Liverpool were missing Mascherano and Cole, we were missing Balotelli, Kolarov and Boateng. Rare occurrence that any side has everyone available and in today's world of professional sport it's the ability to cope with injuries that separates the winners from the also-rans. If they want it as an excuse, they should be consigned to the fact they are a middling team there to make up the numbers.

However he DID stick up for us on Sunday Supplement in front of the uneducated tabloid morons. I gather he has frequent chats with our friend Brian Marwood, who enlightens him as to the real stories as opposed to the media crap.

He spoke our corner pretty well last week on Sunday Dogshit. There looked to be proper animosity between him and Shaun Custis. So fair play to him for that.

Like most of the press he can turn colours and sides regularly when it suits him.

Cant help saying that he went into bat for us on Sunday. He probably would moreso after Monday if it was that clear that we were gonna be up there. . I dont particularly like him for what he did with Cook, but he has done good for us recently

This isn't exactly aimed at Winter (that'd be a 50 cal), but why do we say 'He's not a bad bloke now' just because some hack decides to change his tune because he sees there is now a Bright Blue Future in place. Would we say the same about a Rag, Scouser or Chav who has constantly slagged our every move?

I still think he is a cunt (see the twat thread in ot) but he has actually made an effort to get on board recently
