M6 mayhem Monday

Postby s1ty m » Tue Aug 24, 2010 9:16 am

Anyone else get in the hideous M6 mess yesterday?

Left Coventry at 2.45, planning for a nice bit of food in City Square and a bit of look around the shop. Got to me seat at 8.05. 5 hours 20 minutes with a 3 hour delay on the M6. Turning round became a serious option at one point, we only didn't because the distances between junctions 14 and 15 are so long.

Then, we get back to Junction 19 for the return leg and the M6 is closed in both directions. A bit scary and I hope that was not as serious as it looked. Easy ride back from 18 though, with no traffic coming from the North.

Good job we won! And how. Magnificent from 1-11.

Must have been mad Monday on the roads.

As I was heading back up the M66, after the game there was a car being pulled out of a tree!

Me too, two and a half hours between 14 & 15. Came off there and went A500 to 16. Seven and a half hours from Newbury, can do it in three on a good day. Fortunately, just missed the closure at 19 coming back, it was slow to the accident on the other side, then no problem. Good job we won.

Had shit loads of traffic for some reason on the way back. Getting to the ground was no problem.

For an evening game i would normaly leave home between 1-30 and 2-00 but my son was at football training at his college and finished at 12-30 so i picked him up and decided to have a slow stroll up the motorway to get in for about 4-00
I got to the ground eventualy at 7-30
