Thanks Joey

I watched MOTD earlier this morning and had to laugh at the amount of stick Barton received from the Wolves players especially Henry. He must have taken 6-7 crunching tackles of which only a couple of the Wolves players were booked for and then he made one himself and got booked!

Dislike the prick with a passion but thought he did well to keep his temper in check

as i wrote in another thread, i think it was a very cynical tactic by wolves to aim for barton hoping to get him off his game/sent off.
barton did very well to keep his composure, and will be very useful for newcastle if he can stay out of trouble for a whole season.

I agree Nooly, Barton did well to keep his temper under such provocation ... those anger management sessions must be working for him

I thought he played really well. It was annoying.

....and he's shaved off the 'tache!

How long before the 'I'm carrying this club' quotes? He's started off well this season and really is the back-bone of that team, hopefully he'll keep it up 'cos I'd much prefer the Toon in the Prem rather than the Wigans et al.

I have him in my Fantasy League team and yesterday he was my highest points earner with his assist so this is a genuine
"Thanks Joey".
He was always a talented player and if he can control his temper like he did yesterday through out the season, then he will be
a big asset for Newcastle.
He will be targeted by other teams though, so let's see how long he can keep it up.

Yeah, he had a great game, fair play to the boy.

I've not watched it yet but if that's what happened, then it sounds very cynical. I suspect we can expect Super Mario to come in for the same treatment then?

Whether it's a thug, a hot-head or just a gifted player...the rfs should apply the same rules throughout and players should be protected.

From the day he decided to enter in the Brilliant Mostached Group, he has highly improved! Well done, Joey!

I watched it last night and the three wise men picked it out and showed him being hit, as an extra to the highlights. I don't believe they showed all the bad tackles during their highlights, which is a shame, cos these guys at kotd ( k for knobheads), always are selective in what they show. Btw i thought alan shearer did a great job on hansen last night with his analysis of walcott and hansen's opinion about walcott not being an intelligent player.

The atmosphere in the studio did seem to get quite uncomfortable fora while ;-)
