Well, I personally don't think it should be Tevez and I think a lot agree.

Who do you think it should be going forward? (I think these are the most likely candidates - if you think someone else should be added, I'll do so!)

Yaya for me. He was excellent first half and although he burnt himself out in the second, he will be a mainstay this season and I can see him pulling all the strings - like he did first 45 yesterday - regularly, as time goes on, ala Vieira in his pomp!

I voted it should be Yaya but I also think that if you took the armband off Tevez now, it would have an adverse effect of the team. (or Tevez at least)

It's a funny one really. There are so many captains out on the field and in the squad with Kolo, Yaya, Barry, Komps, Vieira, De-Jong that I'm not sure it really matters who actually wears the armband. Having said that, I think a player like Tevez will feel proud and wanted and loved if he gets to wear it, even if he can't understand a word the ref says. Also, he leads by example. However his form is, you know he'll always give 100% and that transmits to the rest of the team.

EDIT: So, I voted Yaya but will now change my vote to Tevez. If it weighs too heavy round his arm, then hand it to someone else...probs Yaya but like I said, it doesn't really matter.

Mancini's given it to Tevez, so it has to be Tevez for me. Maybe this is a stupid concern, but Carlos' English speaking ability does worry me.

Vinnie Kompany for me. He's likely to get a few yellows during the season. Being captain he may be able to talk his way out of the odd one.

Plus he's a natural leader. Love him.

Perhaps that might not be in-depth enough for some folk, Dazby. I however agree Kompletely.

Tevez. Its an out of the box choice (a bit like Tevez in a match) and will either be inspired genius or something akin to Napoleons march on Moscow.

Truthfully I don't think it matters who is Captain so Tevez was worth a punt. I also think speaking English is a minor issue.

Kompany. I've said ever since he arrived, that after one season in the Prem he should have been automatic choice for captain.

Kompany for me i think he was born to be a captain.

Kompo, think giving Tevez captaincy was to make him feel important and keep him happy. A bit like when Hughes gave the armband to Robinho for a few games, still piss myself thinking about Robinho trying to talk to the ref with his hands behind his back, as if that would make any difference.

ive gone for yaya to be captain, think that tevez is trying to hard, he should just be a striker and get us goals.

tevez for me as only player guaranteed to be startinge very game, once he gets going he will be fine.

Aye. Tevez will feel like he's been demoted and not take it too good. Next thing you know he'll be running over to the bench and rolling his sleeve up to show a hidden captains band at Mancini as a demonstration goal celebration.

Don't get me wrong, I love Tevez. When he went to West Ham I was jealous. When he went to the Scum I was absolutely gutted. When he came here, I was ecstatic. All the while, his little Tevez sideshow goal celebrations with dummys, shin pads and the cupping of the ears does do on my tits a little.
