Popped along at 11 not expecting much but the gaffer and coaches ( minus Kidd) were already out awaiting the players. Just 12 on show today plus 4 keepers. Let's see if I can remember them all. Cunningham,Vieira, MJ,AJ, Milner,SWP,Boyata,Ibrahim,Micah,Guidetti,Mee and...( I always forget one.)

The good news came when Ade came out to work with a physio and then so did Boateng. Both looked reasonably ok but didn't do anything too tough. Boateng stayed working longer than Ade and the word was he won't be in the frame this weekend but is a slight possibility for WBA but more likely for Chelsea.

Part of the early warming up was a game of tag! Quite funny watching them chasing each other around but after a while they all disappeared behing the fences to do Mancini's routine team shape and passing attacking movements. Even with a group unlikely to ever play together it's the same work out so that everyone appreciates the way he wants them to play. This session lasted longer than usual but when they came back it was to play a 7 a side game on half a pitch.

Most notable things in this game were how well AJ and Milner linked up at times.MJ still finding time and a pass. Guidetti putting him self a bout. One moment stood out with Guidetti . He recieved a ball with Vieira bearing down on him and As V seemed to have won the ball JG reacted strongly and basically won the ball back shrugging Patrick off and onto the floor. Guidetti went away with the ball and Patrick got up and gave him a nod of approval.Guidetti scores a couple of nice goals too but in putting the last one away was tackled and hurt his ankle. It looked like game over for him but after a few minutes with physios he came back on and seeemd ok if a little tentative.I hope he is ok but I feared anlke ligaments when he limped off.

Mancini came on himself when Guidetti was off and sprayed a few nice passes around but it was funnt to see him backing into Micah at one point and grabbing a fistful of his shirt at the same time.SWP was also very lively and finishing quite well. I remember the other player now and it was RSC. Some nice bits and pieces from him but he didn't stand out.

I also got word on Lescott that it isn't that bad! I am sure not for Wigan but probably after that.

Nice to read that Ade is back training, albeit light work. What is a dead leg in football??, obviously it must be more that a dead arm we used to give each other at School years ago.

It's basically a haematoma. You can try massaging it away, but the best medicine is rest for a few days (up to a week). If you train too hard to soon, you can get an inflammation. This happened to me when I was around 19-20. My whole thigh swelled up like someone was filling a balloon with water. The thigh actually dropped over my knee cap and was hanging around my lower leg. Scary stuff, and no football for two months for me.

Thanks Doug, great report.

Would be good to see Guidetti getting some game time soonish.. i thought he could have come on last night for the final 10-20 mins, just to give him a taster. I expect Bob to take the CC game very seriously otherwise again it would be a good chance to give some game time if things were going well.

As ever thanks Doug.
Always hearing good things about Guidetti. Must need more time on the pitch to develop. Back in Sweden or with a name like Guidetti in Serie B.

well assumed. i then took a break from football for ten years trying to rest myself into form, but that didn't work either. i'm still shit.
