Sunderland's Titus Bramble arrested over rape claim
Titus Bramble has also played for Newcastle and Wigan Sunderland footballer Titus Bramble has been arrested after a woman was raped in a Newcastle hotel.

The Premier League defender and a second man were arrested at the Vermont Hotel early on Wednesday and are being questioned by detectives.

The 29-year-old was arrested on suspicion of rape after a call was made to the police by a woman in her 20s.

Sunderland Football Club has so far not commented. Bramble joined the club from Wigan in the summer.

A spokesman for Northumbria Police said two men, aged 29 and 30, were arrested on suspicion of rape.

Probably just another slag out for money. Sounds bad I know, but the amount of footballers that have been accused of rape is endless. And 99,9% of the time it turns out it's a load of bollocks.

If wikipedia hasn't missed one, there's only one prem footballer who's been found guilty of sexual assault out of dozens of allegations. That was Marlon King who had a sexual assault charge tacked on for groping a woman after he viciously (physically) assaulted her.

I'm sure there's a case out there that was genuine (there have been in other sports and there's absolutely no reason to think that footballers are above it), but it's getting harder to believe an allegation until it's substantiated.

Until he's convicted i will believe that it's a slapper out for some fast cash.

For impersonating a footballer?

I thought he was a rape victim as he gets raped every saturday afternoon at around 3pm.
