I think it has merits for and against you only have to look at someone like Tevez to see that its a bit of a myth.Carlos runs his bollox off every game but he still trains like everyone else and he seems rarely injured.

Tevez is infamous for being half arsed in training at all the clubs he's played at. That's why if he's not playing week in, week out his form/fitness suffers greatly.

A City spokesman said: "Mr Verheijen appears to have become a regular critic of Roberto Mancini's training methods, perhaps not entirely coincidentally since his consultancy services at Manchester City were terminated by the club several months ago. We wish him well in his future practice."

We read the original article by this guy in FC Business a while back, so it seems to me he is popping his head up again because Mancini is saying there are injury problems at the mo.

i dunno the words axe to grind come to mind. Kolarov, Boateng, Balotelli were not part of the pre-season training. Besides if there was something that bad im sure that RSC would be the first to suffer.. kind of early warning canary.. like down the mines.

It is a sophisticated line of attack from the Guardian though, im surprised as i didnt think their hacks were that clever.

In fairness the whole double sessions thing struck me as being a bit stupid.

Couple of hours break between sessions is really only enough for muscles to cool down and relax. Going again so soon wouldn't be he best for them I'd have thought.

I was pretty sure there had been a lot of discussion about this and when we do have a double session, the second half of the session is tactical work. I do not see how that will injure anyone.

As I understood it, there was all of two double sessions last season under Mancini but I am sure young Douglas can confirm that and they were only on weeks where we weren't playing a midweek game.

Ex-coach blames Mancini and praises Hughes...are we sure john68 is really a taxi driver and not a football coach?

we are all pissed after the loss, but yr just hearing what you want to hear in this piece CARL. it's nothing. some assclown consultant who got run out of town by Mancini, prollee cuz he was expensive and full of shit, is airing some garbage. i think highly of the Guardian, but this is a nonstory imho. i can't believe you think otherwise.

also, i didn't say it wasn't worth posting. what i said was that i'm shocked you'd give it credence.

cheers

If they are indeed being worked as hard as being said, and with the amount of games that have been played in short time, I have no doubt it is true.

Fuck me!!!...There can't be that many people left in the football world who hasn't had a pop at us.
Is there anyone on our side?

One thing to note was that City have double training sessions on Tusday when there is no midweek game...It can't be that many sessions then can it?

I'd also submit photo evidence of Tevez towards the end of last season - anyone being overworked in training wouldnt get quite as chunky as he did.

bollox...bellers was never injured und bobby!! hes body was in the best shap of his life.

boateng got injured in a internation game, ade has a deadleg (what happens all the time), mario had pains in he knee from last season so that cant be bobby fault. kolerov only had 1.5 weeks of preseason and was unlucky in the spurs game.
