Just saw it on MoTD.
Theres no way that was a kick to the keeper, who wasn't shouting for the ball or even for the free kick to be left for him.
I dont know what it was supposed to be. Michael Turner must have been in two minds what he was doing, or else he's just plain stupid.

Looking at it again the FK was taken in the place the foul was committed. Seems legit. Whether it's sporting or not is debatable.

I'n not 100 per cent upto date but i thought that if the ref pulls the team up for taking a free kick too quickly, then he has to blow his whistle to restart the game. Which he didn't do.

Joke of a goal, only at Anfield.
Add to that they should have had a red card and another penalty against them and a pretty piss poor effort from the officials. Not surprisingly, it's the same ref that gave the goal in the Watford-Reading match that missed, hope he is dropped to the conference and made to work his way back up.

Match OF The Day, showed Gerrard's assault during the game highlights but didn't show it at all in the analysis afterwards. NDJ would have got a 10 minute solo spot for doing that. Disgusting bias for that club, on the pitch & off it.

aye, had to agree with Bruce when he said if Cattermole had committed the same offence it would have been a straight red.

Did anyone notice Shearer referred to Silva as 'Villa' TWICE before being corrected by Lineker? Embarrassing.

I thought that too but actually what happened was that the same piece of footage looped (for some strange reason). Even Alan Ben Shearer ain't that stupid.

Same with de Jong, and the fact he got a yellow means it cannot be revisited by the tribunal. Disgusting.

The goal wasn't in the spirit of the game, IMO.
If a City player had done that, I'd be embarrassed.

Interesting point, but, as much as I can't bear them, the Liverpool players simply capitalised on the other team's mistake.
Diving and using elbows is much worse (in terms of the spirit in which the game is played).

This pissed me off more than anything in the world. Fucl the 'goal', the facl they glossed over Starfish Gerrard the inbred cheating scouse cunt elbow was fuclin ridiculous. I think I actually hate Liverpool more than scum now, the bias is unbelievable. Can't wait for Thursday now, am going to try to smuggle a City flag into the ground so watch out for that for those that are watching Utrecht-Liverpool before City kicks off.

yeah, but...you'd have to admit that when the ref disallows a quick kick in a situation like, in your own half, then it's pretty typical to just reset the ball where the ref seems to want it and have the keeper pop up and take a whack at it, which is obv imho what he was doing. Whether he realized how it looked in the moment we'll never know, but i can't fault Liverpool for jumping on it. i can fault the ref for being a complete joker however. truly outrageous and embarrassing for the game.
