Thought I would do a thread for this instead of looking for the other one all the time.
So today saw us record another victory in the league at Preston North end. We won 1-0 but really had to tough it out. That see's us sitting at the top of the league with 9 out of 9 points and maybe starts the belief that we can actually win the thing.
I will put the full report on once it's up. Also for those on Facebook can you join the offical Man City Ladies fan page, it's been set up by the club for us. Trying to get 1000 fans by the end of the weekend.
Cheers Andie.

Well in Andie. It's nice to read how the other teams are getting on. Will join the facebook thing and give my support.
I have only tonight just seen the e-acadamy the club have put together for the kids. It looks fantastic and will certainly be letting I'ckle Bob take a good look at the training videos.
Do you get to meet the players / Mancini et al?, you will bump into them surely?
Are you friends with the Great Sheik?

No we don't meet the players. A couple did a kids event with RSC and SWP last year buts that's a close as it gets. As for the Sheik top lad that keeps promising to buy me a pint in the Townley...!

Hey, Sister of Fu,
You seen this? Go on youtube and put in "Quite Unfit for Females" (1921), should inspire you or make you laugh, or both.

City Ladies continued their impressive start to the season with a 1-0 win over Preston North End.
The winning goal came early in the contest thanks to Lindsey Savage who blasted home a free kick from the edge of the box.
It wasn’t all smooth sailing for City as Preston missed a penalty and Andrea Worrall was forced into some fine reflex saves.
Manager Leigh Wood commented: "It was a hard fought game today in which we had to dig deep to beat a very well drilled Preston team.
“We rode our luck at times but did have enough chances to put the game to bed in the second half. It was a good three points."
The women are at home this Sunday when they host Nottingham Forest in a League Cup match at the Regional Athletics Arena next to CoMs. Kick-off is noon. Entrance on gate is £2 for adults - under 16s free when accompanied by a paying adult.

Shame that. A little earlier and it would be possible to turn it into a double header.

City 2 v 1 Aston Villa
Man City Ladies beat Aston Villa 2-1 to keep their unbeaten league record in the Northern Division 1 of the FA Women's Premier League.
A first half injury to City's Linda Shepherd saw a stoppage in play for 31 minutes, after the restart Becky Lee hit the bar for city before Sarah Danby scored the only goal in the first half on 33 minutes a diving header from a Krystle Johnston cross.
Villa's Melissa Lawley was a constant threat on the right wing and her solo run on 70 minutes got the equaliser hitting the ball low past Worral's right hand post.
Man City's substitute McManus headed the winner from a Sarah Danby corner in the 80th minute to keep city's unbeaten league record.
Both teams started the game quickly and for the first few minutes the teams were well matched with most of the action taking place in the middle of the park. 10 minutes in City gained a corner and the ball was headed clear of the Villa area only to fall to the feet of Becky Lee whose first time shot rebounded off the crossbar. City then gained the impetus and only five minutes later came close to breaking the deadlock when Krystle Johnson's long range effort was saved by the Villa keeper.
Moments later Linda Sheppard went down following an innocent challenge from a Villa player, which turned out to be much more serious with Linda needing to be taken by ambulance straight to hospital resulting in play being stopped for 30 minutes. (Substitution for City - McManus for Sheppard)
As the game restarted, City appeared more unsettled by the incident and Villa came close to opening the score on two occasions, one a good header from the Villa No.18 producing a fine save from City's keeper Worral and the other attempt denied by the woodwork. City gradually got back into the game and on 38 minutes City won a corner and Sarah Danby headed home the first goal of the match to give City the lead, which they carried through to the half time whistle. 1-0.
The second half started with Villa pressing hard and threatening City's goal with a series of corners, the best of which produced another fine save from City's stalwart keeper. 12 minutes in City substituted Elle Turner for Levi Wensley a straight swap in midfield and continued to press hard. With 24 minutes gone of the second half, City allowed M. Lawley the Villa No.7 to break from midfield and equalise, 1-1.
The game now opened up with both teams playing attractive football and creating chances at either end but eventually City came through and regained the lead with Abbie McMannus scoring a fine header from a Lauren Beckford corner. 2-1. With 10 minutes to go City made another tactical change when Becky Grocott replaced Krystle Johnson up front, and City continued to work hard to the final whistle. ]Final score, 2:1 Win to City.
Manager Leigh Wood said "A disappointing performance today. We never really got going. Villa put us under a great deal of pressure, especially in the 2nd half. But credit must go to the players as they dug in, showed great character and came away with a 2-1 win and 3 points".
Hope that table makes sense!!

Yeah slightly overworked, we were very poor yesterday and got away with it. Let's hope we improve for our trip to Newcastle on Sunday.

Sounds like you came up with the goods when needed most - well done and congrats Sis o Fu.
By the way, scuse the ignorance but do you have a LoM or PoG at matches?

No we don't but between the players we have the "pink ball" award. Where you get to mind the pink ball for a week. It's voted for by the team. Iv had it once this season and the dog nearly ate it when I brought it home. I also got a fine for forgetting to bring it back. I tend to get quite a lot of fines for different things.
