Journalists Making Up Quotes

Postby BobKowalski » Sun Sep 26, 2010 8:21 pm

Some reporters themselves are not that happy about it...unless of course they are making that up as well :)

Long story short recent stories such as 'Hart should play for Man U says Casillas' or 'Ozil dreams of playing for ManU' and 'Buffon exposes Man City defensive flaws' are literally made up bollocks which is hardly shock news as I never understood Buffon's seeming obsession with all things City.

The common demoninator is the Daily Star on Sunday.

Mate they do it all the time and it's a fucking joke, there has to be some way to stop it. Can a player or the club of the player take legal action against stuff like this???

Probably but then the footballers themselves are all based overseas so it is likely that they couldn't care less or even be aware what some low rent arse wipe of a rag prints in a foreign country. I mean would you bother if you were playing in the Prem and some Italian paper printed 'an interview' with you and your views on some Italian GK you barely knew?

The other thing is its a many headed snake as these half truths, lies and fictional accounts spread throughout all the media outlets especially the internet and once printed somewhere they will keep popping up for forever and a day. Its like Micah getting told off for smiling too much = no fun or levity at MCFC = grim training conditions under Mancini which duely pops up on Sunday Supplement today with everyone who doesn't support City adding it to the 'waiting for the MCFC meltdown' list.

Personally I have no idea whether Mancini did clip Micah round the ear anymore then I know whether Taggart made Bebe have a haircut when he joined his mob and in both cases I don't care that much but it doesn't matter whether they are true or not or exaggerated or not as for most people it is true because they read it somewhere or heard it today on SS.

I honestly don't know why everybody pays so much attention to the media. We all know they spout shit, we've known it forever, even before we got relegated under Ball, no doubt before that. So why bother getting agitated by their shit? Stop buying their products. Stop entertaining their views. Otherwise our fans are on a slippery slope to self pity Scouse ville.

Our club is pretty much hated by everybody now. But our fans have always been a shining light, very often having a good craic with opposing fans. But all this victim wallowing is not only doing my head, it's turning other fans against us. Never before had I heard anybody but a rag say they hate City fans. Yet this is becoming more common place now.

We need to be careful we don't forget who we are and where we came from. Ignore the bollocks. It's all a ride, so enjoy it.

Can't you see the connection between the 'I hate City fans' & the constant, daily, media sniping? There's an enormous, orchestrated hate campain against the club by cronies of the threatened clubs & of course people will use that as an excuse to have a reason to hate us, the fans. No one would genuinely hate a fan of another club just for standing up to defend their club against an unfounded attack by the press, no chance, never. They'll pretend that as an excuse though if they're encouraged to hate City. The fact that we're being dragged into it means that people are believing the bullshit & we're being tarnished by it as fans of the 'horrible' club.

Never give in to those fuckers. Someone has to put the record straight or otherwise their lies become truth & will resurface again & again as such, whenever the subject comes up, for years to come.

there is one way to stop it...just ask the journos in question to cut and paste news articles from the official web sites of the Premier League teams and it will all be fine.

you should fucking sue them dude...seriously. don't fuck about...get on it!

Exactly.

We all KNOW they write this crap and even when they have direct quotes they twist them and make it sound like something else. I read them but take everything with pinch of salt.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?
