Part of the article -

Edin Dzeko last week said he was upset at missing out on a dream move to Juventus in the summer.

He made no mention of Manchester City, who were also keen on the Wolfsburg hitman, until they were quoted an unfathomable £50m for him.

It was a perplexing thing to say. A look at the two teams which meet at the City of Manchester Stadium in the Europa League tonight would suggest that plumping for the Blues above the troubled bianconeri would be a no-brainer.

City are a team on the up, lying fourth in the Premier League, while Juve languish in ninth in Serie A, currently an inferior competition.

The Blues have wealth to burn and are driving forward into a future which promises silverware and glory, while Juve are still wafting away the stench created by their implication in the match-fixing scandal which ripped apart Italian football.

In terms of a bright future, City are one up on the Old Lady. But the problem with Dzeko was that he was looking at the past.

He could see a team which has won 27 Serie A titles against one with a single English league crown, one that has garnered six European trophies to City’s one, and which is renowned throughout the world as the home of global greats such as Zinedine Zidane, Michel Platini and Paolo Rossi.

What a fuclin glaring error to say we've only won the league once. I despise this paper and even more so since that rag bastard Brennan was made the City Editor. What other major city newspaper would appoint an opposition fan as their editor? Absolute disgrace is the MUEN. I'd use it as bog roll if I was desperate and that's about it's only use.

That's actually quite positve in a roundabout way. It seems to be saying that Dzeko was making a mistake. Ok, the twats got the facts wrong, but it does look like he's saying that Dzeko is looking no further than his nose. The sort of blinkered view that scum fans have/

When I saw the thread title I thought it was about the journos going on strike.

To be fair though I think if he'd said he wanted to come to us they would've said he was only coming for the money - like everyone else we've signed in recent times. Damed if you do, damned if you don't, and all that.

To be fair, I read the full story on the train and apart from a few twists in the wording, it was quite a good read. What pissed me off more was the fact that they had a four and half page spread on how great the rags, and especially the youth, were. Our page and a half was 5 pages in; let's see how many pages they donate to us after beating those 27 times league winners?
