Adebayor

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Well I don't know is it only that I'd like to see Ade coming good again (at City!) or was he really ok, but I thought he was ok.

In my honest opinion we didn't threat at all as much when he went off. And I think that had something to do with Ade even if he wasn't in his best form today. Though probably the reason is that we lost the big man up front once he left.

I really like him as a player but i'm finding it so fucking hard to disagree with you.

Bobby need to take him aside and clearly say "work hard or fuck off". Too fucking lazy, Tevez work rate makes him world class, if Ade could apply that shit he'd be the same.

Slightly harsh there. Looked knackered at the end clearly not fully match fit yet hope he improves on Sunday

I didn't think he was that bad, he did more tracking than normal, and he clearly wasn't match sharpe.

Absolute rubbish first touch and close control as well although as pointed out it is probably to do with a lack of match sharpness. Would like to see a viable alternative other than Tevez playing up there as he likes to move all over the pitch and we need somebody to hold the position in the middle.

Thought he did fine and led the line well.

Somehow I don't think some folk will be happy unless he bangs in a hattrick every game.

Gave Tevez the freedom he needs. Lack of match time will lead to someone like Ade not being as sharp as we know he can be, and that showed tonight. But he put a good stint in and it's no coincidence that our creativity dropped once he was subbed (nothing againt Silva there btw).

Could've been better, definitely, but his presence gave something to the team.

FFS give him a chance to be match fit! Rather him leading the line than Jo/RSC, he has more talent in his little finger than those two combined, lets hope Mancini can coax it out of him while we wait for Balotelli!

The only thing that did my head in was when that ball deflected to him and he shoulda been on it like a rabbit but just flung his arms in the air. Stay focused you cunt (whoops was I being racist there?).

I just wish he had the same attitude as Tevez. I didn't think it was possible for anybody to outdo Benjani when it comes to offside.
Balotelli......that's a brilliant finish.

Adebayor who played in "that" game against arsenal would be in my team every week unfortunately he just does not care enough for me to be proud of him wearing my clubs shirt

Just got back from the game - he did ok but there were moments where he just wasn't concentrating and some of his simple passing was terrible. I don't understand why he is so keen to take the throw ins either - he would be much more useful in the box.

Thought he looked good for the first 20 mins, but as soon as things weren't going his way he lapsed back into sulk mode.

Thats exactly how the Arsenal fans described him when we signed him. If a manager could only figure out how to get that fight and performance he had in him at Eastlands when we beat them 4-2 and he ran 100 yards after scoring we'd have one hell of a player but playing like he was tonight he's a waste of space.

Im very cynical about Ade these days but you are just plain wrong. He looked like he was trying tonight and did ok.

If Adebayor had played right tonight he would have made AJ look really good. As it was AJ rarely had an option but to try and take on another defender. Numerous threads and comments about our wingers but somehow Ade wasn't the target man in the box we needed/wanted. I think Silva is class and he will be mint in due course, I was chuffed to see him and AJ swapping wings, they should do that more often.

Have to say one thing though our goal was FUCKIN SWEET

AJ was absolutely fucking pathetic in everything he did bar the goal. Adebayor got one good cross, which he fucked up, from Tevez & a couple of nearly great balls from Boateng & Vieira. Johnson has barely produced one decent ball for City so far this season & tonight was as bad a performance from a wide player as you could ever see.

I like Ade.Always have.. Didn't play well tonight but neither did half the team.
On another note.It must be very hard for Mancini to just walk into the richest club in the world and deal with players from 2 previous managers.Especially when there whinging with hints to the press.
Ade your a fuckin top player when your head is on the game but stfu and fight for your place like Nige has.
