Cool finish. Our formation doesn't seem to suit him tho. Same for ade I guess.

Great goal and a few other decent moments but I didn't really think he had a good game overeall. I was a bit surprised he didn't once that i can remember take the full back on to the bye line.

The way he cut in through the defenders unnoticed from the wing to catch that beauty pass was unreal, other than that his game was off i'd say - moments of brilliance though!

His ability to run at defenders the way he does is just fucking unreal.

Only Tevez can play everyweek physically and perform to the same standard, also i think he may have gotten a bit to big for his boots lately and has been brought down a peg or two by Mancini.

Apart from his excellent run and the way he took the goal, I thought AJ was often pretty ineffective tonight. Not one of his better games but maybe one he needed to teach him and help him reach a higher level.
He may be an international and very talented but he's still a kid and some days will meet defenders who are able to keep him quiet.
He still has plenty to learn and we need to be patient with him.

Agree with this. He also picked the wrong pass a lot of the time, aiming at players that had no options what so ever when they got the ball. I also think he should have tried to go on the outside of the defender every now and then, but it seems like he isn't confident in crossing with his right foot.

our front line is too small for wingers to hit with crosses. I knom Ade played yesterday, but that is not the norm and the OP asked why does he not play every game. I think once Super Mario is fit we may see more of wide men

Lol. AJ was pretty poor tonight and his selfishness is getting worse.

What could he do? try and take on or pass through a couple of top class defenders, or hit and hope?

He usually had fuck all support from the right back.

If he scores a goal like that every time he's on the pitch, I dont care how quiet he is.

Watching him warm up and just before KO his body language looked negative. I think he has been given a slap down and told to keep his feet on the ground.

Great finish yesterday thanks to a fantastic assist by Yaya, but he's actually less brilliant than a month or two ago! However I admire so much this lad, Mancio is making him the real guest star of City indeed!

Agree with Doug here, nothing to get excited about. The opening half an hour he was poor and played some sloppy passes (one them led to their goal). He seemed reluctant to take on his fullback but he got his goal, from a great run and a wonderful pass and came out second half and played a little better. However I thought he was let down a little in the second half by Boyata, who rarely got forward to support him, but he's not a full back so you can't really blame him.
He's still a young lad and he's still learning his game so rotation is best for him at the moment.

Needs to learn that getting in quick crosses rather than jinking too much will put defenders on the back foot - too often we allowed them to get defenders lined up for an expected ball in - needs to improve accuracy as well but not too worried overall

He wasnt up to much aside from the goal. Created nothing else and gave the ball away many times.

Needs to improve his alround game and learn how to tackle a bit.

A player that only a few weeks ago was high on confidence, scoring twice for his country then has his balloon well and truly stamped on and now suddenly looks like a shadow of his former confident self. That showed him!

AJ gave the ball away far too much, he didnt get nearly enough through to Tevez or Adebayor. I love him when he is on form and dont like to slag the lad off but this poor run he's going through has gone on too long now and I have always been unsure of his ability to get past decent defenders, he's great when he's got space but when he's got a man on he's a wimp.

I really hope he gets past this as I have a lot of respect for him, I think maybe building himself up like Ireland did will help him massively, he do with more power.

His one man show v Blackburn showed his limitations in decision making. He is still fresh to this level and has to improve to shine at prem and intnl level. He can do that, but it means work and it means work on the stuff he is weakest at. he has the right attitude and in the long term Bob is right to peg him back, he isnt the finished article and he has to fully understand that and deal with it.

Imo he can do all the things he needs to be able to, he just needs the experience to know when to do what. I also think he is at the right place with City and Mancini, who i believe has the experience and determination to develop players to be their best, if the player's attitude is right. That needs care and the harsh truth. He has been told that if he wants to be the next best thing for City and England then he has work to do to consolidate what he is now and go beyond it.

Mmmmmm Adam Johnson. I am marrying him and I aslo plan to have all his babies.

I think it has been great man management from Mancini bringing him down a peg or two and telling him he needed to work hard and learn more.
