Too many people slagging him off. He's hardly any time at all, pretty much sorted the defense out, team yet to 'gel' and some brilliant talent still to recover from injury.. oh and were not playing great but were in 2nd (right now)!
Yeah.. shit 'MANAGER'.
EDIT.. OH AND he brings a player on to try and change the game.. that player then changes the game!
Poo management that. ;)

In all honesty he rides his luck like fuck. Stubborn little fucker. I like him tho. I do. I think that's some of what we need. Someone that says "this is how it is and ill live or die by it"
Im hoping he doesn't fail.
Cheers

I really really like him the person and manager "character"
I have yet to see evidence that he is the mastermind some would have us believe
However I am honestly praying to got that he gets this right.
I don't think that I, or others are "slagging" him but it is pretty understandable why lots of people (esp mid-matches like today) get pretty frustrated at how he has us playing in parts.
Johnson did indeed change the game, the flip side of that is that if he had either started Johnson or brought him on (say) at HT then the game might not have needed "changing" (I would term it "rescuing") and we may have been home and dry 80 mins in rather than frantically searching for something and then trying to panic our way to the finish.

I can't recall anyone saying he was a shit manager? Tell us names of people who've said that mate... or else retract it and admit its pure fiction.
I think he's doing reasonably well and he has most defenitely "sorted" the defence, from front to back. And he won titles and shit in italy. That being said, his football bores me most of the time.

Played Spuds, Chelski and Scouse and we're sitting 2nd in the table.
Nuff said? He's clearly doing something right.

I have to say that the idea that he is a tactical genius for bringing AJ on is laughable. Everyone and his dog, plus my granny and her cat knew we were in dire straits and AJ had to come on as our last hope.Congratulations AJ.
I won't go into the thought that he should have been on in the first place.

I'm not having a go at people on this forum necessarily mate. Just people on the radio I've heard moaning etc. I mean.. we were going on that we should beat teams like WBA and Sunderland etc and we should at least be able to grind out results.. then we go and do it today and then people are moaning that we should have beat them by more and been convincing etc. The fact is Newcaslte were not too bad and we didnt play great but we still won. How can people be moaning about it? Thats how football is and why its a sport. Also the thing about AJ and people saying he should have been on from the start.. Well yeah ok we could have done that then he might have been average and fizzled out after 60 or 70 minutes and then if its still 1-1 what? Mancini got it right today thats all I'm saying. Its crap to watch sometimes but people need to remember where weve come from and have a look where we are. I'd rather that today than playing awesome for 90 minutes and losing 1-0 which as every city fan should know can and has happened to us.

I'm with Lee R on this one mancini is getting it right we won again today and I think we have only conceded 3 league goals that's not bad. Bobby manc is making us difficult to beat I'm sure he could have us playing like arsenal but loom what happened today again they lost but they played well.
We are heading in the right direction so I say let's enjoy the ride who knows we might enjoy it.

to expect us to start playing like barcelona already is ludicrous.
mancini has it right... get the winning mentality first.

I have no doubt that Bobby is the man to bring us silverware
It's funny..when the likes of Keegan and Hughes were manager..the armchair managers used to like the term..
'Winning teams are built from the back'
Now we have one of the meanest defences in the league we suddenly lack as an attacking threat
'The Special One' everyone raves about and who many on here wanted to succeed Hughes sets his team out exactly the same..Chelsea first won the league playing out boring 1-0 victories and I'm sure their fans were not complaining
If it was up to some we would change our manager like we change our socks..

A lot of people on here are using vague statements like "a lot of people are saying X" where "a lot of people" infact equals one or two over-emotional nutjobs and "X" is usually a complete fabrication of the truth. I am aware of the irony in that statement.
Saying we're playing shit, we should be beating Sunderland, Paddy V is a waste etc does NOT mean people are saying Mancini is a "shit manager" it just means they have opinions of their own.

If the first-half decision-making of several players when clear over the half way line, had been anything approaching sensible, we would've been 4 up at half time. Poor individual efforts today.

Many tired looking players today - right from the off - and that leads to bad decision making as well as anything else.

Very true mate. And now some of them have to fly all round the world for 10 days. Madness, but the penalty for buying top internationals. Mercifully I dont think there's another international week until March.

Most of them will get a fairly easy time of it physically though I hope. Two high intensity games really seemed to be 'in them' today.
Yaya Toure looked absolutely shattered after about 20 minutes !

This is so true. A fair bit of stuff we've done this season, including today, has been fucking awful. There's a bizarre cult developing where everyone's supposed to pretend they were really happy with the performance & if they think it was utter shite, it immediately means they want the manager sacking. I think Mancini has dropped loads of bollocks, as did Hughes, but I want him to be left alone to get on with it & I really hope he is the manager in ten years time, as I did Hughes.
Anyone who thought there was much good stuff to build from on today's game is imo a fucking knob. Almost everything went wrong but WE WON. Hughes' team often played better & drew or lost so in that respect it's an improvement. To pretend it was good though, is fucking stupid, it was dreadful. We can & probably will, get better though.

i still dont get this 1 up front with 2 top class wingers when the 1 is in the middle is tevez. mancini is obviously playing this on the break game which i think CAN be exciting but there is loads of times we have gone tearing up the field and there is only tevez or no one in the box. is he just playing this to get the momentum flowing and then slot balotelli in next to tevez? i think today we should have started 4-4-2 with ade on and no yaya (he looked fucked from the start!)

Whatever the formation, I recon we've basically fucked up the attack & need to get it back. Some of the faults, ie crossing etc, were there before Mancini arrived but have got worse under him. Add the ridiculous Bellamy sacking & defensive line ups to that & imo we have work to do in order to be a top 4 attacking unit. Nobody can say Mancini didn't react to that today though. He tried to be positive with his substitutions but it needs work to get the fluency back. Now imo he has to find the dynamism he lost by dumping Bellamy but he has to find it from players who don't have his pace.

Mancini picked the wrong side AGAIN. We went into that game, against a newly promoted side who have had a difficult start, with just two attack minded players. As soon as the team was announced it was clear we would be huffing and puffing. But it was even worse than that.
We have the players to destroy teams but instead we get the shocking defensive selection. I was asked in the pub who I would have played instead, it was an easy answer: Ade and A J. And it took an hour of ineptitude before it happened. They should have started for this game, they shouldn't have had to rescue the shambles it was becoming.
It seems to me that we play on the counter attack and to do this we have to let the other team have too much of the ball. It almost invites teams into a game they shouldn't have a snowball in hell's chance in.
Come on Bobby, stop fucking this up. Carlito shouldn't be on his own upfront in these games. We don't need NDJ, Barry and Yaya at home, to teams that aren't attacking. It nearly cost us yesterday and isn't good enough.
I have real reservations about Bobby. I hope he gets it right. I like him. But I really don't trust him to get it right.
Yesterday's problems were once again caused by a poor team selection.

Lol. Look, if the players he selected had played better in the first half, after they crossed the white line, we would have been out of sight. 3 times, 3 fucking times, we had an easy pass across the box for a tap in, all in the space of 10 minutes. Milner blew one, Barry horribly another and I forget the third, so awful was it. City could and should have had 4 in that first half. I mean, the Barry one, please someone explain what crossed his mind?
OK, so it became turgid and Mancio changed it. Kudos for that. He waited only 5 minutes in to the second half and that was pretty decisive in my book.
The team he picked should have had it all sown up by half-time.
