Just back from the game so not seen it but he is getting a lot if stick on the Radio. Was it malcious or was it just a hard tackle??

Looked like a tough, fair tackle to me at the time and I was surprised to see him stretchered off. Stan Collybollocks is having a field day on TalkSHITE saying that DJ snapped the guys leg. Was it really that bad? I though the tackle on Milner directly afterwards looked far worse.

All on ESPN said fair tackle.

I've not seen it but I was late getting to the ground but on the radio commentary at the time they said it looked fair.

Tough takle but he won the ball. Followed through with his other leg and ben arfa was unlucky that his leg was planted and it gave way, not nice for the lad but not the horror tackle the media are portraying.

There's already a witch hunt on for Nigel following the Henry tackle this week and I will be amazed if he doesn't get slapped with a retrospective ban as there was no action taken at the time. Absolute horseshit but it's bound to happen. De Jong and konpmany were immense yet again today and we will miss him big time if he does get a ban.

So in stans world it's alright to beat up women but not put in hard challenges. Collytwat is the worst thing to happen.

I think Nige knew what he was doing. He won the ball, but he also wanted to give Ben Arfa a little bit extra, and brought his trailing into him as well. Ben Arfa had his leg planted in the ground, and it broke. I think it was a little dirty by Nigel to be honest.

I would put in in the reckless category. Not the standard 2 footed lunge nor did it have studs showing but I think it was overly aggressive and the type which is being highlighted more and more as reckless and a sending off offence.

Nothing at all wrong with that tackle.

Hell, Soccer AM has a feature on "Big tackles," if that hadnt snapped his leg it would of been the main feature, it was colossal.

I watched the game with an Arsenal and Blackburn fan who both said what an immense imposing challenge it was.

I dont give a shit what anyone else says, it was a class challenge that was unfortunate for Ben Arfa and I hope he makes a full recovery.

A proper tackle with unfortunate consequences - typical of the radio to stir it up just to get people ringin in, particularly so of talk sport, possibly the worst radio station around.

De Jong knew it was serious and was very professional in gettinbg his head around what had hapened - concentrated on his game and put in a very good performance.

As for Ben Arfar - really feel for the guy a top talent who had got off to a great start in the premier league, this season will be the poorer without him, hope his season isn't finished.

Alan Green has been spouting shit about this one on Five Live too, he's absolutely positive the FA will investigate the incident and likely ban DJ. He had a disgruntled Geordie on the phone who was lapping it all up.

I'd be amazed and hugely disappointed if the FA really do ban DJ for this - nothing wrong with the challenge in my book. Terrible outcome yes, but the intent wasn't there at all.

At the end of the day, what can the FA do? The referee didn't give a free kick, nor book NDJ.

I'm quite sure action can be taken if that's what they choose to do. If it was Milner or Barry making that challenge though nothing would have been said but De Jong has that world cup challenge hanging over him and we know how much the press love a pantomime villan.

Unfortunately that's exactly why they can do something. If the ref had booked him then they can't take any action but as nothing was given then they can dish out the punishment themselves.

The Henry tackle made it the hot topic of the weekend and the radio were lapping up making de Jong out to be the re incarnation of ghengis khan. Expect a 15 minute segment on it on match of the day tonight and an fa statement tomorrow morning. I bet they are salivating at the prospect.

I thought you could only retrospectively charge players with violent conduct? (I.e Adebayor kicking Van Persie in the face) There's no way that De Jong's challenge was violent conduct.
