Fucking LOL

This whole campaign from them has defined hypocrisy, they bent over backwards to welcome the yanks and now its gone tits up they won't stop moaning about 'modern football'. Of course, they want some sugar daddy to come in now and give them funds to spend again, I guarantee you won't hear them moaning about 'modern football' if it does happen.

Looks like its gone one step further as well - civil war on the board?!

The Board of Directors have received two excellent financial offers to buy the Club that would repay all its long-term debt. A Board meeting was called today to review these bids and approve a sale. Shortly prior to the meeting, the owners - Tom Hicks and George Gillett - sought to remove Managing Director Christian Purslow and Commercial Director Ian Ayre from the Board, seeking to replace them with Mack Hicks and Lori Kay McCutcheon.

This matter is now subject to legal review and a further announcement will be made in due course.

Meanwhile Martin Broughton, Christian Purslow and Ian Ayre continue to explore every possible route to achieving a sale of the Club at the earliest opportunity.

Is that Echo and the Bunnyman claiming that Tom Hicks 'is raping all the family, at once, over a long period of time'?

That is one of the funniest things I've seen in quite some time. Take my hat off to them, Chris Morris couldn't have done better than that.

It is like something of BrassEye - I half expected Ricky Tomlinson to mention the damage Cake does to Shatner's Bassoon!
It's fucking cringeworthy, and all this history shite... do they realise that football was going strong for almost 100 years before they had success... Blackpool and Preston have more history than they do!

And where the fuck were these boys...

Liverpool confirm sale to New England Sports Ventures - subject to solving a legal dispute with Hicks and Gillett. Not there yet then.

More american sports tycoons ... will they be greeted as saviors?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Englan ... s_Ventures

They own the red sox, the scum have a business partnership with the yankees (for those not into baseball that is the most heated rivalry in the game) ... I don't know what to think about that.

Is that (still) because of the Babe Ruth transfer or was there already a rivalry?

Did they just go and sit on the set of the Royle Family and invite all the cast's opinions?! Jokers. History wins you nothing.

no, it's because of the proximity of the two cities, combined with a lot of (recent) history of competing for honors ... I mean, people from new york generally don't like people from boston and vise versa. Seems like it's always been that way and it spilled over into baseball where they compete in the same division and are always likely to meet in the playoffs and many times during the season.

Babe ruth was born and started his career in Baltimore ... not that you care about that, but we generally don't like the red sox and we hate the yankees. It's always been a bit eerie to me how there seems to be a parallel between my home town rivalries and city's rivalries in the prem ... seems like it is going to get a bit weirder too.

While I can see the (slightly) funny side of that video - and the irony of their current situation - isn't that what football fans do?

We were taken over by a wealthy owner to much acclaim from us. We have reaped the benefit of that but it could just as easily have been the case that we were run into the ground too, so maybe we shouldn't mock the afflicted too much ?

You are going against the tribal nature of every fan - and forgetting all the lording over us Scouse have doen since we had a sort of parity in 1977.

Basically - we won the lottery, they lost it, fuck 'em!!!
