Pretend Hughes never existed and Mancini got the squad back at start of the 08/09 season.

What would have happended to

Elano.
Dunne.
Robinho.

Which of the transfers would he have stuck with and which would he have passed over? (Assuming they were all lined up by someone else in the club)

Lescott
SWP
Kompany
Pab Zab
Toure
Barry
Bridge
Bellers
Given
NDJ
Tevez
Ade

What would have happended to

Elano. Would have had a heart attack and died in training when he saw the hill being built. A 60 minute player would not last in any top 4 team.
Dunne. Face did not fit with Garry Cook. Would have gone regardless of who was the manager
Robinho. Mancini did get rid of Robinho after "insulting" him by taking him off as a sub against Everton. Was the right decision.

Which of the transfers would he have stuck with and which would he have passed over? (Assuming they were all lined up by someone else in the club)

Lescott Would not have come. I have a feeling Mancini does not rate him as he isn't comfortable on the ball or running off it
SWP At our development point when we signed SWP he was the right signing for us so probably would of happened as the fans wanted it
Kompany We would have missed the boat on Kompany. Hughes had some insider knowledge on this one and we caught a lot of bigger teams napping when Kompany had a bust up with his former employers
Pab Zab Would have remained in Spain I reckon with Mancini buying a £5m rated Serie A based player
Toure Was a Marwood signing - would have happened regardless
Barry Barry looks like a Mancini type of player. I reckon he would have being in for him
Bridge Would still be a Chelsea bench warming I reckon
Bellers Probably would be back a Liverpool - certainly not signed by us and sold by West Ham to someone
Given If Mancini didn't fancy him he'd of signed for Arsenal on Newcastle's relegation and arsenal might have won a cup
NDJ probably would have waited till the summer before signing; unsure who he would have chosen to go to. Had plenty of admirers
Tevez See Toure
Ade See Toure

What would have happened to

Elano. - Would've been reprogrammed as a defensive midfielder
Dunne. - Would've been reprogrammed as a defensive midfielder, solely to keep him away from our goal/ 18 yard box. Would've gone on to win the 09/10 POTY award for this transformation. This would be widely disputed by fans who actually watch games.
Robinho. - Would've made a poor defensive midfielder and subsequently sold

Which of the transfers would he have stuck with and which would he have passed over? (Assuming they were all lined up by someone else in the club)

Lescott - Maybe - Has defensive midfielder potential
SWP - Maybe - Though small, has shown his defensive midfielder qualities during brief but assured performances at right back. Will need to stifle any dribbling habits
Kompany - Banker - Already has defensive midfielder experience, no extra training required
Pab Zab - Another banker - Will pick up many yellow cards in his defensive midfielder role, this is a bonus
Toure - Sign - Has a brother who is one of the world's best defensive midfielders. Though many argue his brother is not actually a defensive midfielder, this can be changed
Barry - Sign - Was an attacking threat at Villa, but will mold into a defensive midfielder almost seamlessly, seemingly losing any footballing skill he had as a consequence
Bridge - Pass - Not defensively midfield enough
Bellers - Pass - Is too creative to be a defensive midfielder. Will stay in contact as he may know Robbie Savage
Given - Pass - Very few goalkeepers have gone on to make successful careers as defensive midfielders
NDJ - I will drive him here myself - The ultimate defensive midfielder
Tevez - Maybe - Has not played defensive midfielder before, but shows willing. Could perhaps be used to lure Javier Mascherano away from Liverpool
Ade - Pass - Contract negations broken down when new defensive midfielder role is explained to him. Oddly, will go on to make perfectly serviceable defensive midfielder at Juventus
