What a joke (story from the Sun)

De Jong breaks a players leg - but it's all fun and games in training.
NIGEL DE JONG has been caught laughing about a training ground foul - two weeks after his leg-breaking tackle on Hatem Ben Arfa.
Our pictures from Manchester City's Carrington training ground yesterday show De Jong making his challenge on Kolo Toure, who then rolls around on the ground pretending to be in pain.
De Jong is then pictured jokingly checking the player is all right, while a member of City's coaching staff pretends to give him a yellow card.
But the joke will not go down well with Ben Arfa, who had to be carried off following the challenge by De Jong in City's 2-1 win over Newcastle a fortnight ago.
The player, who is on loan at the Magpies from Marseille, was taken straight to hospital with a double fracture.
Ben Arfa, 23, will not play again until March at the earliest.
De Jong, 25, was subsequently axed by Holland for his actions as a whole new debate was sparked about reckless challenges.

Yesterday, City boss Roberto Mancini expressed his sympathy for Ben Arfa but at the same time defended De Jong claiming the challenge was 'normal'.
Mancini said: "First of all, I am very sorry for Ben Arfa. He's a good player and I hope that he can be back playing very quickly.
"But I'm very disappointed about the people who talked about the situation. I never saw the tackle at the time. I watched it two days ago. It was very, very unlucky.
"But it was a normal tackle, not all the things that the people talking about it have said."
City last night moved to play down the incident. A spokesman said: "This was a training exercise and in no way did Nigel De Jong mean this to be a re-enactment of the incident with Hatem Ben Arfa."
Was it Doug who said they'd do exactly this? lol

They should ban them from being anywhere near the training ground for a while.Oh and our chef should put his special sauce in their reporters' half time food at the Arsenal game too

Well, Bobby won't have to work very hard to create a siege mentality will he?

How did they know it was a yellow card they were pretending to show?

The media very rarely wind me up but this story, and the way it was presented by SSN earlier, had me thinking that the club should actually do something about it.
'De Jong reenacts Ben Arfa tackle' was how it was billed this morning.
He has been absolutely slaughtered over this and it's gone too far now. It's gone way beyond the levels of coverage and criticism that we have seen recently for tackles that were far worse e.g. Taylor and Shawcross. I can live with the fact that we are upsetting the status quo and are therefore public enemy number one but the suggestion that De Jong reenacted the tackle for laughs crosses the line.

Something about that photo isn't quite right. Looks like a photoshop by the newspaper
The coach's feet are level with Toure's feet, eg he is stood in front of both Toure and Nige. Yet the coach's body and right arm are BEHIND both Nige's shoulder and Toure's arms.
The coach WAS not stood where the picture suggests, as why would he show the card behind De Jong's back

I was kind of worried that all the endless crap would have affected his game, making him think twice about 50/50 tackles etc, but seeing this has reassured me that he's happy to move on.
Fuck the Sun.
BTW the first thing I thought of at the start of the story was, how come this bastard was allowed in and Doug wasn't?
My wee ditty
Here comes deJong, do, do, do, do, do
Here comes de Jonggg...
Its all right
do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do,
(Beatles song "Here comes the sun")

You're spot on there John, I was just about to post the same thing; it was making my eyes go doo-lally.
I wonder if the club have noticed because I'm sure they'd want to put a stop to it.

Hadn't noticed that but it's like one of those magic eye puzzles if you keep staring at it. Bizarre

What is a fucking joke is the fact the photographers can get such a shot, yet poor Doug still hasn't got a pass to see the training.
Yes John you are right when you keep looking at it the coach looks like he has been put in afterwards as if to show they are taking the piss out of the situation.

FFS!
there was less fuss when that cunt Keane committed GBH ending one of our player's careers and then wrote a book about it!

I buy the 'Sun' for my dad every day, and I was going to come on here to advise Blues with blood pressure problems not to read the back page - after weeks of made up stories about bust ups and disagreements in training, they finally get photographic evidence showing the real atmosphere and they STILL try and not only continue the de Jong witch-hunt but add an anti-City slant to it too.

Sick, sore and tired of this story.
City need to swing out the legal team again.
The coach's feet are well in front of Nige's, yet his hand is behind his shoulder.
Absolute disgrace.
This so so obviously fabricated. Someone has clearly sat in an office and decided to further sensationalise this story.
