It'll put the cat among the pigeons on a few forums but its a waste, really - Shrek will find form soon enough. All of this will be forgotten if he pops up in the 18th minute of injury time in the derby and scores one on the goal line.

I don't buy into any of the sinking ship bollocks (they're still 2nd in the league) but to even consider selling him would set the alarm bells ringing. There's no way they'd let him move elsewhere in the Premier League either.

I dont particularly want old Shrek, but all is not well at the Swamp.

1) Lack of quality in depth due to lack of finance and the strains of the leveraged debt.
2) They should only be second until 4 pm
3) Taggart 'wouldn't sell Real a virus', then suddenly sold Tranny - same could be forced on him with Rooney to balance the books.
4) Sportsmen who appear on the scene really young can often seem to burn out quite early too - Michael Owen and Mike Tyson off the top of my head!
5) Alarm bells are ringing on their forums - have a look, have a laugh!

It's very slow and painful, but it is surely sinking.

Like the line about Rooney liking Tevez's hero type arrival at City but how the fook would they know that?? That's a quote pulled directly out of someones bottom!

I understand the source of this story was one Stan Collymore. Lots of stuff seems to come out of his bottom!

This shows the job rags have done; the way Ferguson & Co have bullied & brainwashed people into believing they have special powers which in turn has almost given them special powers! Any other club with crippling debts, their star player an emotional basket case, their next two best players 30 odd yrs old, a defence shipping goals every week, can't hang on to a lead, goalkeeper strted dropping bollocks, hardly any decent youngsters coming through, manager talking about retiring & a possibility of missing a chump's lg spot, without which they can barely survive, would be quite rightly thought of as struggling & sinking. Yet with the rags; people will still call it bollocks!

Remarkable brainwashing & something we can learn from.

Agree about 'burn out' & imo it's happened to almost all of the best young England players in the last decade or so, usually at an even younger age.

If we can see it...then I am certain that those involved inside the swamp have a ringside seat and are well aware of the position they are in.
They desperately need money to keep the bailiffs from knocking. A couple of bob here and there is of no use to them, they need big bucks to keep afloat. They are as vulnerable as any other club and have no divine right to dodge the bullets that are coming their way. I never expected a huge implosion, it never happens that way at first. In the beginning little things go awry and it is hardly noticeable, then the cracks get a little bit wider and gradually it starts to go tits up.
Pompey hobblerd along for ages before they finally collapsed, as did Leeds and as are Liverpool.

There is a real danger that they might even drop from the top four. Then they are in huge trouble and watch the rats depart. The rags are going rancid...the signs are beginning to show. The gap between them and Chelsea is growing, City are challenging their top 4 place and with massive player investment needed, they haven't got a pot to piss in. At what point will Taggart smell the coffee, realise his messianic reputation is at risk of being tarnished and decide he needs to bail out before he gets the blame or sees even he has no chance to reverse their fortunes.

...and NO...I wouldn't have the unfaithful granny shagger anywhere near us. No matter how good the media think he is.

It's so important that we win this game today because it presents the rags with a big message & genuine threat of missing top 4. All they've had to worry about so far is missing top 1. They hadn't even considered anything else. The spectres of City & Spurs mean that, for the 1st time in decades, they could genuinely be pushed out of the top 4. I think that's a pressure which they can't take as a club; (fighting to be 4th is not something they ever have to do) & if it can be put firmly in their minds, their arses will go completely along with their 'invincibility'. If we fuck up it's 'same ol City' pressure off. This is a huge game for us & maybe for them.

I totally agree Ted, but I also take it a couple of games further. beat Blackpool today and we go 3pts ahead of the rags. Next up is Arsenal and then we have the CoMS derby. Win both of those games and we create at least a 6pts gap with almost a third of the season gone.
There MUST be something wrong at the swamp. Taggart has ignored an uninjured Rooney for the last few games. Taggart is full of ego and wouldn't weaken his side without some good reason. Taggart is pig headed and like Stam and Beckham, if Rooney has rocked the boat then he could be the next one oushed overboard. The new contract has been lying around unsigned for a while now, the rags need him to sign to keep his value high to maximise any incoming transfer income. Unsigned, it just makes Rooney a target for Madrid.
All this shit has got to affect the players' morale.

One perspective is that, alongside Gazza, Rooney is perhaps the player least suited to resuming his career in a foreign league. He can barely express himself calmly in English and would be like a fish out of water in Spain or Italy.

Given Taggart's certain disinclination to sell him to a Prem rival, the story seems unlikely, as much as there clearly issues affecting him and his play (that have been evident since SA2010).

Its a crying shame, for sure.

Agree about upcoming games, we could find ourselves top if we win the next few.

Taggart's bust up with the Irish guys over the horse, when he ignorantly thougt he was entitled to countless millions in stud rights & was happy to retire & enjoy it ( fuck Utd I'm off) was the main reason the Glazers ended up at OT so he backs them in everything & will no doubt back them if they sell Rooney.

It's all great fun of course, but also pure speculation. We've been on the receiving end of this sort of stuff. No direct quotes, all unattributed statements, "insiders say" and that sort of thing. To my mind it reads like some sort of puffery "leaked" from the management either for internal political purposes, or maybe dangling a maggot to see what bites.

Nevertheless, you just have to look at what's going on on the pitch to realise that, so far, they aren't the power they used to be. They've had dips in the past and came back stronger - but maybe this time.... Well, I've thought that on a few occasions recently and been proved wrong. Still, maybe this time..

However, let's imagine for a moment that there's something in the story. There aren't too many clubs who could afford his wages let alone any transfer fee: us, Chelsea, Real Madrid, Barca (maybe), Inter Milan (maybe), any more? I suppose an in form Rooney would add to all those squads - in form forwards usually do. In each case though I doubt that managers are looking wistfully at the swamp and saying to themselves "that Rooney would be the final piece of the jigsaw" Should Rooney be sold I get the feeling that he would be bolted on to the squad rather than satisfying some perceived need - a trophy buy. Sure, he might grow into the team, but it would take time and there is always the risk that he might not adap. Quite a big risk in Rooney's case I would have thought. Mind you, you never know how he might react to a new challenge (type in the usual cliches here).

Still, I no longer think that I know more about the game than professionals like Mourino, Bobby, Guadiola, or indeed Ian Holloway if it comes to that. No, the management of certain clubs will casting cold, calculating eyes at the situation and will make their decisions accordingly.

Now, should we buy him if the chance arose? Well there's no doubt that would send the cousins into a rage of a gloriously suicidal dimensions - and we would love it. But, from the point of view of loving City more than hating Utd, the only way I really want to brass them off is by beating them on the field regularly and finishing above them in the league regularly. If Bobby genuinely thinks Shrek can do this for us, it might be hard to swallow, then yes, but not for any other reason.

The thing that gets me about this story is that the Mirror have had the balls to print it. That says more to me than the actual content.

Gazza did well well when he went to Lazio didn't he ... or do you mean purely on a communication level? Shrek will come good again whoever he goes to .... and it won't be us.

I can't actually believe that I heard booing at the swamp yestersday. I mean what the fuck, they have won everything possible and been at the fore front of English football for 20 years and still they boo. Either very short memorys or a new bread of shite football fan.

I really need City to beat blackpool this afternoon and it will be another fantastic week at work, especially on the back of this story as well, I can see the reds diving for cover in work tomorrow morning if we win.

On Rooney, I have said it many times before, but I just dont see what is so special about him? I really dont.

There is nothing special about him mate, it's just that the press have decided to hype him up and some people believe the press rather than their own eyes!

At least his club manager has realised that he is crap and has got the balls to drop him, I just hope his international manager grows a pair soon.

The only point I'd make re this Andy is that unfortunately ive heard more booing in 12 months than I have in 10 years. I think I wud be pretty pissed if we drew 2-2 with WBA after being 2-0 to the good. I think their fans have to be genuinely concerned with what's going on with Rooney. It's a tricky spot, he did it wig becks and stam. Thing is the nobody can say anything to fergie, he has to back the blazers and the club have to back him. No matter what the over does. Once there is dissent from either side it will just collapse round their asses in a beautiful big pile of rag shite

They're a strange lot Andrea, I sometimes try to imagine what possible pleasure anyone could get by following the plastic twats.
