I hope this small mistake isn't going to affect the lads confidence. He seemed a bit shaky after that but shouldn't let one mistake undo all the excellent work he has done previously.
It was good to see Joe just give him a grin rather than tearing into him.

It would have been a shame for that to fuck up his night after he'd played so well. Doesn't look like a youngster anymore.

He was so unbelievably strong last night, pushing around the Polish players like they were u12's.

Great prospect. Just have to hope he continues to improve rather than go backwards like Micah has so far & SWP has for years.

he is developing into a fine player. good to see bobby still including him and giving him invaluable experience.

It was certainly underhit but I also thought he was expecting Joe to be on the move towards him too, which he wasn't. Definitely Boyatas' fault but I do think Joe exacerbated(!) the problem

Agreed. Shouldn't let it affect him, particularly as he was only put in that position by a sh1t pass from Bridge in the first place.

A little mistake but no big deal It happens to the best.
Apart from that he was solid and I would start him ahead of Lescott to partner Kompany on Sunday (if Kolo unfit). Other options would be Boating and Komp with Micah on the right.
Basically anyone but Lescott !!

he will learn from it, it isnt like any other of our players have made mistakes in a game. BUT he should have looked up before the pass as some more of our players as some just put a pass in and hope 1 of our players will get it. SHOULD MAKE CERTAIN THAT THE PASS IS ON AND TO ONE OF OURS

Sometimes you learn most from your mistakes. Boyata is definite star of the future for me. And I wouldn't compare him to Micah. While there has been definite decline in talent with Micah, he was never that good of a footballer but more like a physical freak with amazing stature AND pace to burn. Unfortunately he hasn't got much football brain. Boyata on the other, already at tender age of 19, is showing that he can read the game. Regardless of individual errors, he has shown to be overall very steady.
