Bad for football, as much as I hate that fucking drum, they certainly offer something different to football with their support.

that really is a shame. wouldn't want to see that happen to any club. we're on the right side of the tracks but money is most definitely ruining the game. Those fans haven't done anything to harm the club except turn up week in week out to watch a team they love, and ultimately are the only ones who will suffer.

Agree, very sad news for them.

Absolutely amazing that it could get this far.. you always think that eventually someone will come in and save them (and it could still happen) but it looks incredibly bleak. Of course it happened to Chester a couple of years ago - anyone know what's happened to them since? ie. is there some sort of resurrection club formed? I always enjoyed our away trips down to Portsmouth despite the shocking facilities at the ground itself. A real shame for football if they go bust.

Terrible news if it happens. I hate Pompey as a team but the fans don't deserve that.

Well done Harry Redknapp for your part in this, with your gun-running associates.

They seem to have a few days left to sort something or they are gone.

Just seen it, sad day if it happens. Don't like the club or their fans but it could so easily have been us. I hope something happens quickly for them

The administrator has been on talk shite, as Doug says - they should be ok until monday/tuesday next week. The old owner, Guiderbollox, has been an arse aparently.

Hope they keep thier heads above water.

At this point they'd probably welcome Gillett.

Apparently the club is worth more as real estate, that's why the previous owners didn't want to sign everything over.

Poor pompey fans I wouldn't wish this on anyone, not even the rags, let them drop below us and let us have our day but I would prefer to have them around to lord it over them.

This is terrible news, especially after the idiot came in pronouncing messi type signings.

If this were City, I would wander round aimlessly for the rest of my days, I cannot imagine life without them!

We all know we have been very fortunate.

I do feel sorry for the pompey fans.

I hope that something can be done and they still have a club to support.

Thank You Shiek Mansour.

Chester reformed and are playing a few leagues below the conference iirc. Sure I also remember an interview with the head of a pompey fan's group saying that they had a contingency plan involving the local council to reform in the event of it coming to this.

Good luck to them, they'll need it.

Never has so much money been in football and yet this keeps happening.
Funnily enough there are plenty of players and Old 'Arry who have done very nicely out of all this.
Strange innit?
