... Have you changed your view this season?

Great with the young players according to Marwood and Mancini, popular with his teammates, happy to sit on the bench, excellent in European games and coming off the bench to help us see out games..... the list goes on and on. He seems to have had a Hamman-esque renaissance this season.

For those of you who couldn't see the point of him being here at the back end of last season (and let's be honest, 90% of forum members were of this opinion), has he done enough to convince you of his worth now?

Personally, I'd love to see him stay and begin his coaching career here as he seems to have a lot to offer.

I think he looks a bit quicker/fitter now & he's just about good enough physically to keep up with play in the right game. Has to be the right set up for him to operate though. Great footballer obviuosly. The body swerves he threw to gain space when he came on v Blackpool were just fantastic. Would love him to stay on as a coach but Arsenal may poach him if he stays in this country.

I was a naysayer so i should say nay.

He has improved and has shown some class, in fact what Ted says about sums it up. What i would add is that i would still only allow him on the field if a) there were no other viable options and b) he was 100% fit and on form.

What i do very much like about him is that at least once in a game he will try and force a goalscoring opportunity out of his own making, that i think is class. He is a brilliant football player and the argument is only about if he is not up to speed he looks like a passenger or even a liability. As he is now in the 25 then i dont see any other reason not to back him and hope he stays fit and on form as he is then an asset.

Is it me or is he growing taller? I never realised how big the fella was/is.

So many players at his age go in for the 'one last payday/along for the ride' deals, but he's been so professional and committed. I always knew he was an intelligent guy and passionate about the game but I thought he might just coast it here as Mancini's favourite. Look at the work he's doing behind the scenes and his effect on the young players. What an asset to the club.

I joke about his pace a lot, but he was signed to bring more to the squad than his playing ability and it made sense at the time. I guess Im a half naysayer, so does that make me a sayer?

I have to admit I've eaten some humble pie. He has shown he still has that ability to create a goal. He has a few assists to his name and he has been more useful than I expected. Not to mention his apparent good influence on the team. Might make a decent coach later.

But God he was piss poor in his first months for us!

I'd deffo sign him up as coach, in fact I'd do it this week. Still a waste of one of the 25 squad shirts for me despite the modicum of improvement.

Depends what you mean as piss poor. He wasn't fit as he is now and was a scapegoat for the Hughes lovers when there were many who were performing lesser than him.

The wages just concern me, but im fairly hopefully he is on appearance based bonuses and a sensible basic wage.

If Micahs improvement is down to Patrick, then its all been worth it. Just wait until jonno can nick a few tips

Yeah I know he wasn't as fit as now but nevertheless he was just so horribly off pace it's unreal. Imo he was so badly out of form/lacking fitness it was clear he should've played in the reserves first!

I thought Vieira was well past it I have to admit. Always happy to be proved wrong in that situation. He looks like he really has a role to play on the pitch, and if what people are saying about him off the field is true, then fair play. Paddy V all is forgiven.

I didn't understand why we had signed him at the time, but you can see what Mancini sees in him.
He's not fit / young enough to play ever match, but is being a massive professional and squad player.
When he is used he's 100% committed, slots in, does his job (well) and doesn't cause a fuss if he's not picked the next match.

I seem to find when he's on the ball, he always seems to have half a yard of space, even when tightly marked. Is cool and calm, can slow the game down if needed. His passing is sharp and can be quite intelligent and likes to be there as an outlet for other players if we're being hounded in midfield when in possesion.
