Thought he looked good when he got moved to cb yesterday. I know it was only 45 mins but he looked better there than at full back. What did everyone else make of him yesterday and his performances so far?

Have a look at him for the 3rd goal mate.

Great prospect, big, quick, two good feet but with the accent very much on the word 'prospect'.

Knew I should have watched the 3rd goal before posting. Left early so I missed it. I haven't seen anything from him at right back thus far that makes me think he's a top player but I thought he showed glimpses of quality at centre half yesterday. You're right though he is a prospect atm.

Got pushed off the ball far to easy for the third considering hes a big bastard but looks a good talent. His distribution needs a bit of work though.

I loved his shot on target in the second half.

Hope you're right, I mean he can't be a bad player. But I have been totally unimpressed thus far.

Correct, just a little too early to be setting the Prem on fire. As Mancio said when he bought him, he has the prospect to be the best, and Mancio and City can take him there.

I'm not expecting him to be the World's Best as yet, and I'm surprised Mancio does.

I'm not expecting him to be the World's Best as yet, and I'm surprised Mancio does.

I think he's a bit nervous as well. There's nothing really to prepare a player for the premier league other than the league itself. I think we should let him play right back against some of the weaker teams at home & just give him the odd subs job against the better ones, while he finds his feet & gets used to how Mancini likes the defence to line up.

I don't disagree with you that we need to look after him a bit but I would like to know who your right back against the not-so-weak teams is, Ted.

Our back four (and goalie too now I think about it) against arsenal was very young indeed. Kolo or even Lescott in there will make a massive difference in the performance of the younger lads, I think.

Do you think one day us City fans will actually give a new player time to settle to new surrondings, a new league and new team mates. Think sometimes we can be hastie in our judgement when it comes to new players.

kompany has taken boyata under his wing and I think with that added confidence mancini believed those two could pull of the job, shame about the booking. Boateng is like what most of you said, a prospect, he has good sparks and i cant wait for him to settle in, no hate though great player

I think we've got two fairly decent right backs in Micah & Zabba. Both are playing ok atm. Boyata did really well there v Chelsea apart from his very rash challenges but I'd feel safer with Zabs or Micah. Kolarov is an experienced player who's used to playing left back so I'd be more inclined to gamble with him (when fit) in big games on the left & play Micah on the right. If we stick both Boateng & Kolarov in at once, it's another big gamble imo. It might work fine but why bother risking it to find out? Also it puts extra pressure on Vinny & Co to organise the defence (like on Sunday) & could upset their game. I don't see why we need to risk it at all until both are ready.

Keep the changes per game down to what's neccessary & bring new players in gradually or v the crap teams or v Juve away if we're already through by then.

Totally agree... whole new life, new house, new country, new language, new climate, it all must have an effect.

agreed. a little worrying. i know it's early doors for him, so maybe he can come good. big and quick though, no doubt.

He looked ok until he suddenly fell to pieces for no apparent reason, allowing Bendtner to score. That's the kind of mistake he obviously has in him at the moment while he's finding his feet & we need to bring him through carefully so as not to affect his confidence & give the miserable sods a new whipping boy to shout at if Lescott's not playing.

I have to say mate that he had quite a few lapses like that for Hamburg, especially during last spring. Kept a close eye on him as it was apparent we'd be signing him. He has MASSIVE upside and it's quite possible he will become great player for us but is far from finished article.

By no means should he become boo boy for anyone. People need to understand that he needs time to grow as a player and learn. Think we will see best of him in a year or two.

If he's introduced gradually as an attacking right back, I think people will see more of his attributes & less of his weaknesses & be more impressed by him; he's fast, skillful & a terrific crosser of the ball. I don't like the idea of putting him in other positions at this stage though, unless it's against teams who aren't very good. It only needs one or two mistakes like Sunday to happen in an 11 v 11 game & he'll be under a lot of pressure.
