The slow painful death of Shaun Wright-Phillips.

Every time the lad gets a game he looks increasingly more clueless than the last time he was seen. He constantly runs down blind alleys, his first touch is non existent, he loses possession 90% of the time and he can't cross.
It hurts to say it as Shaun will always be a legend to me but my god he has turned to shit. I hope he batters in a screamer second half but i won't hold my breath.

he's hardly had a game ffs. yeah he's been shit but to start a thread on him alone after the last few performances considering he's hardly had a min is laughable.

He's been absolute gash for nigh on two seasons and with every passing minute it seems another piece of what made him the player we all loved dies. He's abysmal now.

it's scary how players go downhill. i saw sweep make his debut at port vale and he has always been a big favourite of mine. this decline is indeed painful.

Fair enough, on the last few performances it's unfair, but what has he done for 12 months? 18? Not a lot really. Sad to say.

So he's been as good as Tevez for the last 18 months then by that logic?

Has he ever really captured the heights since he came back from Chelski? Did he lose something down in London?

The rest of tonight's players. Assumed that was obvious enough.

Chelsea turned him into a tactical footballer and ruined him.

There is the old adage that you should never go back - sadly it seems to be tainting the end of SWeePs time at City and its a shame for someone who gave many of us great joy when he first burst into City's first team

I am led to believe from a pretty good source that SWP has allegedly been having some problems which have required professional help. This would stack up when bearing in mind that he hasn't even been making our squad.

He's simply awful atm.
Maybe he only seemed so good because of the shit he was playing with previously?

The one thing I can't accept about SWP is; he's not giving 100%. Ok people can go "look at.. blah blah, they're not trying " etc BUT we know what SWP's 100% looks like; it's like Tevez or Bellamy, teararsing around the pitch chasing everything. There's none of that in SWP's games now, he jogs around & does no more hard running than anyone else. He's not trying. He can fuck off imo.

Bet he wishes he'd let City "mug him off" with that 65k a week contract now eh? Another sparkling piece of advice and PR from Ian Wright who is to career advice what Rosie O'Donnell is to beauty pageants.

But he really does deserve that 100k, 5 year deal don't you know?

For one he ain't no left winger, he's so right footed.
And for 2, he's lost his zip and pace.
He'll be gone in the summer.
