the probably only shining light in tonights shambles, he won every header and tackle. i've give him some stick but that's his best game for us.

how the fcuk vieira gets a game is just mad

its easy to say but swapping kompany for milner was mad aswell, and i think bobby manc under estimated the polish team, not slating him coz give him time and he'll be mint (i hope) but i think he got this one wrong

and adebayor just does my swede in!!!!!!

He did well tonight; definitely the best of our back four, although that in itself means nothing.
But he'll need to show it in the league; and always be ready to hit the ground running, if he's not getting enough game-time!

Did he make it through Wolves?

Had a good game tonight without all the thrills. Why hasn't he been playing?

He was strong tonight alright, thank god one of them was.
Looks much better at centre back but Kompany and Toure have put in some fine performances this season.

yes, but he has looked dodgy in previous occasions at centre back this season.
Having said that just before he got that last injury last season he was beginning to look like he might one day be worth half what we paid for him

Just checked Wiki; yep, he is a Brummy!
I won't hold that against him though if we see more like tonight's performance.

i've give him more stick than anyone cos to me he seems terrified of the ball, but you can't deny that once he was absolutely class so it would be nice to see him get there again. i will remain sceptical for a long time though.

On the ball will always be a weakness for Lescott and of course he is not blessed with pace but he is a strong, solid and experienced defender. What he needs is plenty of game time and at all times when he gets the ball a player to come to him for an easy pass.Nigel does that very well. We saw last year when he got a run of games how good he can be but unfortunately he became one of the boo boys and every time he wasnt perfect he got slaughtered and often very unfairly.

I would have it as a toos up between him and Kolo to partner Vinnie and fully understand that Kolo gets the nod based on his early season form but if he comes in and plays well then keep him in for me.

He was coming on to a game before his injury at the end of last season and really looking the part. I like him and had him down as first choice this year with Vinny. However, he needs a run of games and the opportunity to develop a partnership as he did with Jagielka at Everton but I don't think Bobby fancies him one bit. The selection of Boyata against Arsenal was significant and a real strange one for me, it speaks volumes in terms of Bobby's thoughts on him.

Twice last season Lescott was running into form and then got injured. I firmly believe that he should partner Vinny, but having said that Kolo has actually started this season well. I thought he was awful last year and the real weak link for us at the back. I still hope to see a Lescott/Kompany successful pairing in the longer run. And it pains me when I hear the stick he gets. He's half decent.

Very true that Ger. It was another aspect of that decision that was wrong.
But Bobby might not be here much longer so there is still hope for Jolene.

I agree about him needing games but imo a partnership of him & Vinny lacks pace, which creates uncertainty. It's way better than having Boyata there though. I think Lescott has had a really raw deal from City fans & on average, when fit, has been no worse than anyone else who's played that position in recent years. I also think that he's twice as good a defender as Bridge or Boateng at left back & also gives us more aerial power at set pieces.
