Loving the guy at the moment...even yesterday...his movement is superb and he always finds the space and picks the right pass...oozes class and will be very important for us in the next couple of years...he looked a little intimidated when he first started the season but something seems to have just clicked

Hes got used to the pace of the game. I remember a time he brought the ball down last night with two defenders around him and kept the ball (somehow). Magical. He will only get better as well.

Unlucky with that chance as well as the pass was a bit behind him.

He's fantastic. Should have scored easily though & therefore had a hand in losing us the game. At the moment, none of the other midfield players are on his level. If that doesn't improve we may need a rethink on our midfield squad. Two more midfield players in the squad on Silva's level & the whole thing would start to function as it should.

My big worry was the physical side but he's surprised me there. No problem at all.

Considering how long it can take for foreign players to adjust to our league he's done superbly - took him about 2/3 games?

In which case, how good is he going to be next season ?

I like the guy. Love the way he plays and how he makes it look easy and impressed that he's settled in quickly.
However must say that he had 2 clear chances last night and should have scored. Unlucky maybe but he could've won us the match.

I don't think...and correct me if i'm wrong...that he was much of a goal scorer at Valencia either...He's more a string puller than a finisher

Very surprised that he doesn't mind getting stuck in. I thought he might be another Petrov, but he tracks back a lot.

I've mainly seen him play for Spain and he's scored a few goals for them. Scored a couple for us and looks very capable of scoring many more. Again, I say he might've been unlucky last night and might have been nervous but he is a good finisher in my books.

Agree. I said before he's miles ahead of Petrov/ Elano/ Robinho in that department, he doesn't just put a shift in but is actually quite a skilled tackler for his size

I was worried about the physical aspect as well, but his balance is just incredible. It's virtually impossible to get him off the ball without committing a foul. Silva (along with Balotelli) was probably the purchase I questioned most this summer, but I'm very glad to say I was wrong (the jury is still our on Mario).

He's like an engine ticking over....very smooth, always looking to keep the ball moving, and create openings for the team. We've got a real gem.

You never see Nigel Clough pull on a City shirt mate?

Hes almost as good as that Brazilian guy that played for Heerenveen. Apparently he once scored 7 goals in one game. I find that hard to believe

A rag mate trying to sound informed after we signed him: "yeah I've watched him loads, glad we didn't sign him, will never adapt to the prem, a luxury player"

You might as well talk to the wall, mate.
