CONSEQUENCIES OF TONIGHTS RESULT

As the tension starts to build and the emotions a rising, it may not be the best time to post this but I think it needs saying before the game to make sense of a few things that are going on at the swamp and in the media.

In recent weeks we have seen the gradual increase of attacks on city in the media....WHY?
Witness the incredible public outcry against de Jong for his tackle.
The accusations that Mancini has lost the dressing room.
The accusations that the players are in open rebellion.
The accusations that the players are at odds with each other that they are fighting each other.
The accusations of Tevez wanting to leave.
Theaccusations of Tevez suffering from depression and needing professional counselling.
The accusations that Mancini is to be sacked.
The digging out of that old poster story and the ranting against city by taggart.
The constant talkshite programmes designed to make massive issues about sensationalised nonsense.
The accusations about the role we played in the Rooney leaving/staying saga.
That not signing Rooney was a battle we lost to taggart
The Sunday Supplement attacks by Custis and Ladyman.
All of which add up to a deliberate and sustained programme of concerted attacks designed to destabilise and subvert our club. To heap pressure onto to us and to drag our name in the mud.

This has all been done for a reason...BY BUILDING THIS GAME UP TO BE FAR MORE IMPORTANT THAN IT REALLY IS, SHOULD WE LOSE, IT SETS THE RAGS AND THE GUTTER MEDIA UP TO GO IN FOR THE KILL.
The reality is simple. Whatever the score tonight, it does not change one fact and that is that whatever happens, City will continue to develop into a major force in the football World and one single result won't change that in any way...Unless we over react and self destruct by assisting the media and the rags in their campaign. They can only succeed and destroy City with our help.

A loss for the rags is far more serious. It will indicate to the World that they are failing and fading. Taggart already knows this and he understands that though they are still sitting near the top, they are hanging on and on a downward trek. A loss would comfirm this, especially if we play them off the park and beat them handsomely.

A rag win tonight will only give them bragging rights for a few weeks. It will not eradicate their debt nor solve any of their other major problems.
A rag win tonight will only cost us 3pts. IUt will not be a significant disaster and will not change our upward course.
A City win will massively negate the rags and the media campaign against us. It will damage the rags significantly and assist them on their downwards journey.
A City win tonight will only give us the bragging rights for a few weeks. We will only gain the regulation 3pts from it.

This game is not the biggie that the rags would like it to be. It will be largely forgotten by the end of the season. We are on our way to the top regardless of what happens tonight...Unless we destroy ourselves.
STAND FIRM...UPWARDS...AND...ONWARDS.

And what have we said? Absolutely nothing!

I like it, and I like your post John. This is a Derby and anything can happen, the World will not stop revolving if we don't win, don't lose, or even get spanked. However, if we win it will be a different matter as you and I all know that they are getting really worried about their predicament, and jealous of ours.

My last conversation before leaving work was with 2 rags (can't get tickets tonight) who were bleating about their 'Virus' scare and how many 1st team players were out. Strange isn't that they are the ones now living in hope rather than belief and if we win tonight, I won't say a word but will smile contently when the fucks decide it's time to tell me about their history, which of course, I will rectify for them.

COME ON CITY, YOU KNOW YOU WANT TO!!!

PS. Is this really are Derby, or are we just deluding ourselves?

My biggest worry about City at the moment, isn't the effort that the rags and media are putting into their anti City programme but that by their reactions, there are some City fans that are being subverted and buying into it.
Ultimately, if we stand as one, they cannot harm us. We can only destroy ourselves from within.

I'm not going to get into the 'Performances' issue, and don't buy into the media cat-flogging. Let's just say I support my team whoever and however they play. It doesn't mean I don't have the right to comment on the game afterwards, whether it be good or bad. And I'd suggest that most posters on here are the same in the main.

I completely agree with the opening post.

Bottom line regarding any over the top reactions about Mancini, the question is simple, will we finish in the top 4 with him at the helm in May?

For me the answer is a resounding yes we will be. End of story. And that is what the owners and directors will be thinking too.

Spot on John.. wrote something along the same lines in the City are the favourites thread. The pressure is on them imo and whichever way it goes City are looking pretty and the rags looking like butt end fags.

Excellent post and very well said, all the coverage shows me that they are worried but at the end of the day we only get 3 points off them just like anyone else. A sweet 3 points though nonetheless!!

Come on boys, CTID

Couldn't agree more with OP - whatever happens tonight, we are on the way up.
Don't believe the hype.

Beefers,
I'm not talking about normal debate and discussion, I'm talking about the way some city have allowed themselves to be victims of this concerted nonsense in the media. The way that some city fans have treated what is abject garbage, assumed it to be true and then reacted in way that adds to the pressure against our club.
Debate and discussion is a fan's right and nobody wants to diminish that.
Some of the shite that the gutter media have put out about our club has been disgusting and aimed at destabilising city. By swallowing this shite, some City fans have added to the pressure.

Anyway, I reckon it's all your fault...:-)

I'm liking how I haven't heard anything in the media from our players too, just as it should be.
