Was once told a very interesting story from an impeccable source, about a young ginger player, burnt out cars, eyewitnesses, police case suddenly collapsing due to witnesses changing their story, rumours of coercion/intimidation. Can't remember the bloke's name.

Personally I find it worrying that people are willing to believe an article on Teamtalk. I think its pretty universally known that Butt supported City as a kid and then defected about 12 years old when their scouts signed him up.

oh yeah, totally agree about the tattoo thing being bollox but Ive read several things about him being a blue very early on ... possibly all bollox as well. The bottom line being he now loves being a rag so whatever he was back as a kid is irrelevant now anyway ..... the red cent

He was never a blue. I got that from his brother who can be seen living off his brothers fame in the pubs around Gorton where the Butts are from. His dad is a blue and took the sons to watch City as kids but they grew up supporting the scum from an early age.
