John Guidetti has joined Burnley on a month’s loan.
The 18-year-old striker, who scored from the penalty spot in the reserve derby on Tuesday night, enjoyed a successful spell on loan at IF Brommapojkarna in his native Sweden earlier this year.
Having made his first- team debut against West Brom in the Carling Cup in September, John is set to gain further valuable experience for the Clarets as they aim to bounce back from relegation to the Championship. He should enjoy his new surroundings at Turf Moor - he scored a hat-trick tere for City's reserves last March!

My brother-in-law's a season ticket holder there. I'll be getting a decent opinion of his progress.
Good luck to the lad.

I always like to see our players on loan at this level. Nice mix of lower table-Prem players and lower league grafters. A decent run in their first team should toughen him up and sharpen his senses in front of goal. Just hope he gets the chance to shine!

Good move, hopefully he'll bang a few in and get it extended. Could just end up like Ched Evans, mind.

Good move for the lad. I think Guidetti's got a lot going for him. He didn't have a great game v rags but he still managed to pull out a couple of absolute class potentially game winning moments & he's 100% comitted to being the best he can. Hard to tell if he'll be Champion's Lg or Champiobnship yet but I'd really hate to see him leave City without us knowing. Worried he may sod off at the end of the season though & if he does it could easily be to the rags as they've seen plenty of him.

Give it 18 months and "Superman" Ireland will probably be playing at Burnley too. If of course, he can be bothered to give a monkeys whether they win or lose.

from the bbc website bit more info.

Burnley sign Manchester City striker John Guidetti
Championship side Burnley have signed Manchester City striker John Guidetti on loan until 3 January.
The 18-year-old Sweden Under-21 international scored a hat-trick for the City reserve team against Burnley's second string in March.
Clarets manager Brian Laws told BBC Radio Lancashire: "We couldn't believe how young he was. He ran our centre-halves all over the place.
"We've been keeping close tabs. There were a lot of clubs chasing him."
Guidetti, who was taken to Eastlands by former boss Sven-Goran Eriksson, spent time on loan with Swedish side IF Brommapojkarna last season and started in City's Carling Cup defeat by West Brom in September.
"Stuart Gray [Burnley first-team coach] is best mates with David Platt [City assistant manager], which allows us to have this communication link," added Laws.
"We want to have a good close look at him to see if he can bring something to the table.
"If we can achieve that in the short term there's another long-term future where we can link in a bit more. We want to be the first ones in there."
Guidetti could make his Clarets debut in Saturday's visit of Derby County.

I think Boyatta is ripe for a loan somewhere, it will give him much needed experience. It would have made more sense to hang on to Ned and loan Boyata out IMO

We need Boyata as cover. Much better than Onouha IMO.
Good move for Guidetti, hopefully get gets some proper game time.

They had better fooking well play him because he deserves it - none of this 'coverage for first team' nonsense

Really good move for the lad, got a couple of Burnley season ticket holders that are regularly in my bank so will be getting weekly updates on him. He's one of the best prospects at the club at the moment and this can only benefit him

He came on for the last 20 minutes or so on Saturday, as Burnley came from behind to win 2-1.

I realise that is a Guidetti thread , but as I said earler, I do think Boyatta needs regular games, and maybe needs to 'toughen up'. I can imagine a year on loan would bring him back a better player than if he stayed here, and played just now and then
