Seems that Villa and Brum fans arent that bothered as they gave a little show on the eve of the decision

It's either England or Russia, I'd not mind either of them, for me.
I personally dislike two-countries bids like the other two (although it could be easier for me to get eventual tickets for games in Portugal rather than anywhere else)

I do. It's a real incentive for the other home nations to make it. Imagine Scotland getting the group in the North East or Ireland getting the North West group. It would be like having a home game at the world cup.
However I can see why they might not on legacy reasons. Russia needs this more than England.
Just saw David Beckham on the news saying "No one has fans like England" After watching the end of the Brum derby I think we should be very thankful for that.

Yeah, I hope they do
The buzz will be fantastic
And the BBC/Sky Sports hype machine for England to win will go into overdrive!

I lived in Russia and I can tell you that the stadia's and infrastructure elsewhere in the country is fucking SHITTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT.
No way should they get the bid ahead of ourselves.

That's the reason they might get it, they have 8 years to build it up and that is the legacy.
I don't know if you have noticed but look at how everything has fell apart in this country because of a bit of snow.
Hardly speaks volumes of the infrastructure of this country.

When it snows in Russia Hundreds die...in the UK everything just breaks (shock horror).
In 8 yrs Russia can sort out the stadiums..granted...but I wouldn't bet a ruble they will sort out everything else in that time.

I remember going to a meaningless Spartak Moscow game a few years ago (just for something to do while visiting). I really wouldn't like to see the World Cup in Russia. The infrastructure of England is far ahead of Russia in so many meaningful ways. Sure there's a great subway system in Moscow, but that's about it. It's not a great place to go. England could hold the World Cup in a few weeks time if they wanted to (weather permitting). Every so often it's good to have a World Cup where they're not completing it as they go and worrying about how everyone will manage.

The 2022 decision is much more important obviously, but of course I'd like to see England win the 2018 bid. It would be a joy to see COMS packed to the rafters for a World Cup match.

I hope for England. The 2006 world cup , still caled the summer fairy tale over here, gave germany a real boost. Stadium infrastructure, the youth work in the Bundesliga, which was started in the build up and led to the many talents (more than ever) we have now in the Bundesliga and at least the chance to present the country and the fans in the world -all in all positive

If It's going to be in England, I'll come over and watch the games. Anywhere else, I won't. I don't know why, but a World Cup in England holds a special allure to me, after all as far as I know England is where modern football was actually born, am I mistaken?
