I cannot quite believe it but I am warming to him.
Think he did a good job again yesterday, some good holding up of the ball, coming back to fight for the ball and providing a decent outlet with some nice touches. One howler of a shot I can remember but again he got in some decent positions and could have had a goal or two if people had played a very easy ball to him.
EDIT....it was also his run across the D as AJ was making that diagonal run that pulled the centre half away and prevented him from tracking Johnson.
I would absolutely keep hold of him on current evidence.

Completely agree with you.
I particularly like the fact he has kept his head down and worked his way back into the team, despite having been sent out on loan before by the club.
He is playing well and making a solid contribution when he plays. Yes, there is room for improvement but it's good to see him working on that. He's currently earning his place in the squad so no need to sell at this time.

Has anyone noticed that Joe's attitude about the game has totally changed. He fights for his space, is constantly looking for the cross and always tries to break free from his marker. And this from a player two years ago who couldn't get an assist from the Toffees.

I still think he is pap but fair play to him for getting in the side and doing a decent job.

Agree he's showing a much better alround attitude & even stayed on his feet on several occasions v WHU. He also put in one of the best crosses of the season for Balotelli to miss & If he can produce that performance regularly he's a valuable squad member. If he's to become genuine quality though, he needs to learn how to hit a bull's arse with a banjo, which he currenly seems incapable of doing. Hopefully it will start to happen for him.

Useful squad player but not really good enough for a starting position in a team that wants to win things.Fairplay to him and what he has done this season but let's not get carried away.

Very professional attitude - fair play to the lad - can´t knock him

He has now had a couple of decent games for us and I'll cheer him as I do any other City player but be realistic, he can't be in our starting XI regularly if we really are going to push for title. Imagine him against Terry or Vidic for example. Haha, poor Jô. He'd lose all of his confidence!

Tbf if you remember, Jo left Terry on his arse last time he played against him for City & Terry got sent off for Rugby tackling him.

He's been strong since the preseason and got in the squad on merit, I hope we hang onto him.

Ha, fair point Ted! I still stick to my point though that he's not good enough for league winning XI. yet

Deffo worth keeping in the squad. He's shown this season on numerous occasions that he can do a job when asked.
I also believe he's got what it takes to fight right back into contention for a first team place, but I wouldn't rely on him though.
January will require some bolstering of that department, m'thinks.
Jo - Unreliable but showing promise
Tevez - Mad
Balotelli - Fuck Knows
RSC - Injured/Shite/Injured

He's the only sane centre forward we've got, so looks like we'll be relying on him to bang them in. Oh, and Santa.
Dear god, will we make it to 40 points?

Jo has just got on with it. No nonsense and has just worked bloody hard. He was great again yesterday and is exactly the type of player we need alongside the superstars. A player that accepts he will not be first choice everytime but when selected gives it everything.
Events of the last 24 hours have shown why players like Jo are an asset to our team and im delighted to see him getting his rewards.

A lack of confidence can be horrible to watch in a forward player. He needs a goal. Really, really needs a goal.
I think he had a good game yesterday and has generally done well when he has played. I have been thinking he was crap for two years but I'll be genuinely happy (for City and for the lad himself) if he turns out to be a real player for us. Come on, Jo lad.

Too true !
I admire how's he's fought his way back into contention and is working hard for the team, even doing his fair share of defending. Good squad player as all of us agree but is improving all the time. All he needs is a goal to get his confidence back.

Its a small thing but I like the fact that he always gives other players a thumbs up when they attempt to put the ball into him, even if its completely mishit or the wrong pass he'll never moan! Always acknowledges the attempt
