Tevez - Official Club Statement

It is with disappointment that we confirm to our supporters that Carlos Tevez has submitted a written transfer request. The Club can also confirm that the request has been rejected.

The Club remains disappointed by this situation and particularly with the actions of Carlos' representative.

Roberto Mancini and all at the Club have shown, and will continue to show, sensitivity to Carlos' personal circumstances including the issue of his family being based overseas.  Indeed following his suspension as a result of the game against Bolton, Carlos requested, and was given, special dispensation by the Manager to take leave overseas.

The written transfer request is in stark contrast to Carlos' stated position in both public and club contexts.  Significantly, over recent months, the Club has also received numerous requests from Carlos’ representative to renegotiate and improve his playing contract as well as more recently a request to extend that contract by another year.

However, in line with the Club's policy of not negotiating playing contracts mid-season this has not been granted.  Carlos' current five-year contract has three-and-a-half years to run and he is the highest paid player at the Manchester City Football Club.

This is both an unfortunate and unwelcome distraction and the Club will remain focused on the games ahead in what is turning out to be a very promising season.  The door remains open for Carlos to be selected to play.

So much for Yaya being highest paid player then...

They don't mince words--the irrational swings in the demands is put out for all to see. Like Rooney, Carlo seems to be getting some very bad advice.

Fuck him. Fuck him. Fuck him. And this coming from our captain!!!

'The written transfer request is in stark contrast to Carlos' stated position in both public and club contexts. This is just a pissing contest coming from Media Sports Investments and I from the Sheffield United scandal we know that Kia Joorabchian owns his ass. He states over and over again how much he misses his family, but isn't that a convenient excuse to distance himself from the whole mess?? In the end it is all about money!!

Well, fuck me!
I partly eat my words posted on the other thread because it's due,
Still I am widely convinced that outside interests are playing a wide role on all this shit and the bastard sneaky agent is rubbing his hands at the thought of what profit can make on a move to Spain.
My votes are for the Club acting with good heart toward Carlos but with the utmost and powerfull ruthless toward the Agent.

At least it puts a bit of fact around the story to stop a lot of the conjecture.

However, the insinuation is that this is all caused by his greedy agent, but if greed were the only motive why would you try and force a move away from the most generous club in the world?

Whilst it leaves quite a lot of room for hope, and we certainly are the club who can push the boat out to convince a player to stay...

Its still a fucking huge bummer

because taking a brokerage from a multimillions transfer is more lucrative than the commission fees on the wages only. Also bear in mind that Spain is applying a taxation level on players wages which is lowest in Europe, so dont worry even the Spanish slice could be interesting.
I'm sure Gary, Brian And Bob will fuck Kia plans, though.

Furthermore, because this is somehow a public place and I don't want to embarass the board which is hosting me, I am gonna abstain from further consideration on which entities will further benefit from destabilization at City.

Keep the bastard on the bench . The team and the club is bigger than anyone player.

Carlos has , whether indirectly by his agent having influence or directly by his own decisions, destroyed any rapport between the Manager, the Club and the fans.

He's screwed up badly. So now he will have to earn respect again. I think the squad and the manager are bigger than Teves thinks and he has seriously f*cked up .

If he want's to go , sell him to the highest bidder. and cut the ties. We need to move on. Torres, Dzeko anyone ?

As usual, bankers drive all of us down to earth, apart that Zuricity posts are often just a better set up of what my poor tools are capable of.

Still, on this issue I am convinced that we still have not seen the end of the story...

If I am wrong, obviously, back to square one with the banker's approach and give Vincent the armband.

To try and scare said club into a better contract, for example.

All just a formality now. The club have rejected the initial request but if Tevez persists he'll be sold.

Be interesting to see the destination.

These are certainly not the actions of a captain - give it to Vince please.

well disappointed. i don't know who people think they are. firstly the weather may not be so nice over here but his family could have made the effort to support the man who is bringing them unspeakable amounts of money by being around him. this was always going to cause problems. secondly, it proves that some men no matter how much they are worshipped, paid and loved will never be happy. it may just be kneejerk but i'd let him go even though that terrifies me. drogba is the only player in my opinion that could fill his boots. could we get him?

Actually. maybe he's just doing a Rooney and the wanting to go home thing is just a cover.

Wouldn't be surprised.

Reading between the lines of the club statement, it seems like this is a negotiating tactic by whichever slimey little cnut is representing Tevez - something like a written transfer request would have to involve Tevez at least being informed of what his representative was doing though, surely? (even if his representative was legally able to act/sign independantly on Tevez's behalf)
