POLL: New Strikers - January 2011

Right, so we need to do some serious spending in January as we are now down to one striker who has to be subbed every time he gets at yellow card.
- Tevez has lost his head
- Santa Cruz is no longer needed
- Adebayor has royally pissed of Mancini in some capacity
- Jo is nothing better than a reserve player
- Mario is a red card waiting to happen every other game
We need our owner to spend big (I think January is the last time you can do this before the fair play rules come into effect) for two world class strikers to push us our title challenge on this season and future seasons.
Possible players open to a mega bid are listed in the poll. Which two strikers would you get to lead our line?

I went for Aguero because I think we need a stocky, little Argentine and Dzeko because, well just because he'd be fookin great.

Torres, break the bank for him now that Liverpool is shit. Higuain my 2nd option as I'll admit I haven't seen Dzeko play.
And another who can fill in when Torres gets injured.

All correct apart from the obvious mistake I've corrected

For January we need players to hit the ground running so I'd be tempted to go for Torres and Carroll and then look again in the summer at foreign imports.

Carroll and Gyan in Jan while we try to put together a deal for Dzeko.

Just to play, it's Dzeko and Higuain for me, cuz I l back the idea of City building for the future so only under 25 acquisitions, imo.
But if we really think players of that calibre are gonna moving in the mid term window we are ALL just silly deluded...
Moreover, I really want to sit and look at how the Triumvires will handle this shit.
I am as greedy to look at it as I am to see how much and how quick all our players shall become Senior and Cynical.
I really am.

I wanted five options:
Dzeko
Aguero
Carrol
Higuain
Benzema (could be great as he has not done well so potential is bigger than the price IMO.
Torres is great but only for 33% of the season (rest he is injured).

What about Ade?
I dont like him but he knows where the onion bag is.
We need a hard working, skilful striker, able to create a moment of magic every game, confident, injury free and premier league prove.
Ched Evans?

Eto'o - proven deadly goalscorer, can graft hard (Mourinho played him on the wing last couple of seasons) and Inter are in trouble at the moment.
Dzeko - never seen him play but we need a big lad don't we?

Cocks, crocks, gambles and... cats?
Mourinho on Benzema (& Higuaín):
"Yo ya dije que era difícil afrontar la temporada sólo con Benzema e Higuaín, ahora sólo con Benzema será aún más difícil. Si vas a cazar y sólo tienes un gato, tendrás que salir con el gato porque solo no puedes ir. Si vas con un buen perro, cazas más. Si vas con un gato, cazas menos pero cazas."
I'll leave the translation to the spanish speaking folks here. Don't want to mess it up.

I'd say Torres because he's prem proven but he's also often injured so I went for Eto'o and Dzeko but I don't think Inter will sell Eto'o.

No one knows a thing about the guy but apparently he is the saviour of city and the best striker in the world even though no one else seems to have any intrest in him.
I wouldnt go for anyone who hasnt proved he can do it in the premiership.
Especially not in january because we dont have time for them to "adjust". So carroll and drogba.

Pavlyuchenko anyone?
He's got all the skills that will fit perfectly into Mancio's style of play, plus he's demonstrated at Spuds that he's scared for having to fight for his place in the starting XI.

I personally don't believe that he has. We haven't heard anything to confirm this.
If anything, it's Adebayor not being able to adjust to the way Mancini wants his City to play. City can't adjust to suit him. I thought his signing was quite predictable in some ways. He scored against us regularly so we brought him in!
