Training Wednesday 15/12

A low key day today before they fly out and plenty of cameras around as is part of the deal pre Europa games.25 players on show today excluding keepers but still quite a bunch of what you would call key first team squad players were missing. As just reported on SSN everything seemed very relaxed within the squad.

They separated into two groups , 1 of 10 and one of 15.The 10 practiced with the yellow premier league ball and the others with the Europa ball which suggests the 10 won't be involved tomorrow. In that 10 were Tevez and Mario but also Abdul Razzak/MJ and I think maybe Assulin.I heard on SSN that the expected front two v Juve were Ade and Jo but neither has trained this week and I think Ade is still injured ( foot injury). It wouldn't surprise me if Nimley got a game v Juve. He was certainly out early and practicing his ball skills for some 10 minutes before others arrived.

The 15 played a pass and move game with both Kidd and Platt watching closely whilst the 10 had a 6 a side game at the far end from me.As I said all quite low key.

Are you a big fan mate? Or is just because he's academy/future of the club/local lad/worldbeater etc etc? Last time I saw him he was a bit lightweight, but maybe it is the right time to give him another run out.

Then again maybe he'll be at Chesterfield in 12 months?

I think Jo will be upfront on his own to be homest and it will be one of the most boring draws ever seen by City fans, leaving us top of the group!!

I would take a 0-0. Suppose i would like us to win for the supporters making the trip. I last saw Nimley against Burnley away. He had a 5 min cameo near the end and looked lively.

Rumours are flying about that during training today Tevez shouted to a watching fan "I stay".

Can you confirm this Doug?

I think the last time I saw Nimely play was on the preseason tour. He didn't look half bad. I wouldn't mind seeing him get a run out.

I'm a big fan of playing people who are up to the job. If Bobby thinks he's up to it, fine by me. But how many times have we 'given kids a run-out' in the past and fallen on our arse?

That's true, West Brom probably the most recent example. But there's lots of examples of kids doing okay in that situation as well. Boyata in the FA Cup last season for one.

Not particularly John, however,i have taken in the occasional reserve game where he has shown real talent,on the flip side he can be equally bad.I believe he is at the make or break stage now,at our club anyway, with nothing to lose as far as the game goes, this would be the ideal opportunity to show his ability. The only other criticism i have heard about him is his mard arse attitude, tends to get a few 'injuries'.
