Could you sit in the rag end?

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Could you sit in the rag end?

Postby fees » Fri Dec 17, 2010 2:04 pm

I might be able to get over to watch the derby game at the swamp in February. One of our suppliers won a competition with a local brewery and the prize is flights to the UK, 2 nights in London, 2 nights in Manchester and tickets to the derby. There is some champagne dinner with a Q and A session with an ex U** player, match programme blah blah blah

The supplier has offered to sell the prize to my boss who is a red. It will cost a rand or two but is an opportunity of a lifetime. My only gripe is that I will be sitting with the rags and i don't think i can do that, especially not on derby day! When City score, I will not be able to stay seated or keep quiet, I will also miss out on on the vibe in the City end and that is what derby day is all about.

Dilemna! I would rather be with my own tribe and not with the prawn sandwich brigade.

I've done it a couple of times when I was younger (and harder!) but not sure I would do it again.

If you can manage to keep your mouth shut you'll be ok but it's easier said than done!

Dunnit twice at The Swamp. Once in the main stand. We lost two one and I forgot myself when Quinny scored. No bother though. I sat on the Stretford End the night we got twatted 5-0. Bad night that one. the way you get rumbled is that you can't jump up when the oppo score. Would I do it again? It would have to be for something special, like winning the League there. That would be fun.

Never, never, never, ever would I sit in the Rag end!

Unless I couldn't get a ticket ;-)

As someone living thousands of miles away...i'd just be glad to be there, so it's an easy yes. I'm sure i'd fine some muted cheers and gasps might not go unnoticed, but i'd do my best and just enjoy being there.

true.

I live in South Africa so know how you feel DM. I was hoping to do the Europa Final in Dublin if City get there. There are a few of us from the local City supporters club who want to do the Dublin trip. I can't do both trips so will have to think about this.

touchy cuz you'll have to make your decision before we kick another ball in anger in the Waffa Cup, right? Good luck...

From the sounds of it you will be in the corporate area, so very few of the people in there will be true United fans. You should get away with chearing, but wear neutral colours

Stood in the Stretfor End back in the day when Kevin Reeves scored with a back-heel to level the score. I was only a kid and there were quite a few blues in there, after a bit of pushing and shoving from the cockneys we were all escorted to the City end so you may still get your wish if City score early and you go ballistic.

2. "ACID QUEEN"
3. "never once fails to turn a football thread into a himseelf thread"
4. "thumbs stalker often resulting in repetitive thumb strain"
5. ignore the cunt. he's on permantent wum mission. only TIDs may know City

You'd need to make a very good psychiatrist in order to guess what next in a eight yrs long line of hatred...

I have never been inside the swamp and never would go. It was hard enough when my niece was 6 years old and had a birthday ice skating party outside it.

Would sit there if I had no other option. I'm also positive I would get thrown out if we scored
