Well, I nearly fell off my sofa. All 4 on Soccer Saturday talking up City despite constant prompting to the contrary from some people's favourite - City-hater Jeff Stelling.

The concern was the Tevez saga, of course:

Merson (formerly known as 'Degenerate Crackhead') - "They can win it. They've really won me over the way the play. Prediction - first." This after talking about the 2 matches between Spuds, Chelski, Arse and Scum when none of the sides could string 5 passes together, in stark contrast to City.

Champagne Charlie - 3rd or 4th. I think it would've been higher but for Tevez.

Big-nose Thommo - 2nd or 3rd. Has to admit that it is very likely that City may come calling for Torres in January if the situation with Emo is not resolved. And , that it is quite likely we would get him.

Big-nose Le Tissier - I dont recall if we got round to his opinion as Merson was 3rd and he either took up too much time, or I was still shell-shocked!!

Well, that's the rest of the season knackered then

If Merson is going to suddenly start praising us, well it shouldn't be allowed. He made his bed & he should have the guts to lie in it.

Personally I think the fact he changed his mind is a good thin, after all he is one of the most respected and knowlegable pundits on the telly at the mo.

Saw the end of MOTD last night and they mentioned we could go top and then who knows.

I'll feel happier when we lose to everton and everyone goes back to laughing at us.

Don't be surprised if we see Merson join Platt and become part of City's coaching staff in the near future. Scum bags the both of them!

Agreed Ted, he's still a DC. Though I have to admit his command of the English language and use of intelligently thought out phrases always impresses me. Cockney barrow boy that he is. The turd.

Thats us fucked then. I don't want them to praise us, theirs and the papers bullshit about us all season is the reason why i think the lads are pulling in the same direction in the last few weeks.

Good article by Ian Ladyman today on why we are getting so much negative press. Basically we were never good enough to notice before! Any headline is good news!
