Poll: How do you feel about our performance tonight?

Postby Blue Toy » Mon Dec 20, 2010 10:48 pm

Taking away the result, I thought it was one of our best performances of the season. It seems that there's a few who disagree and that we weren't up for it.

What's your overall feeling?

Had our mistakes punished but were the better team throughout. Didn't do everything right but gave them a battering with nothing to show for it.

I still can't quite believe we lost that game. After the first 20 mins (where it was probably even) we dominated. Totally dominated.

I am surprised the scouse fans didn't nick the wheels of that bus that was parked in front of Howard.

really disapointed that kolarov was afraid of the ball and turned his back to it for the first goal, then toure turns his back to the ball for their second

I too would say we bossed the final 70 minutes of that game, but whilst we didn't start well at all, we had some reasonable moments within that opening 20 too.

Not good enough against that shite - it´s down to us to NOT concede stupid goals and to NOT be profligate in front of it .Why can´t we score at home? What´s the fuclin problem ? Anxiety , tactics , poor finishers , no creativity ? - fucled if I know

We had 25 attempts at goal to their 4.

We had three decent penalty shouts.

We hit the post.

Howard made some greats saves.

It was one of those nights. Shit happens.

if we are ever to be serious contenders, these are the games we need to win.

We need to be able to breakdown teams who sit back. although we had alot of possession we never tired them out. Everton were happy to give us the ball out wide and let us swing in crosses and with our shit conversion rate from headers, im not suprised.

we seemed to have very little movement up front and im surprised we would not be working on these situations in training more.

For now teams still come to eastlands thinking they can get something out of the game, very few teams go to old trafford or stamford bridge thinking the same and sit back and utd and chelsea break them down.

First 20 mins we were wank, they couldnt pass, couldnt tackle, didnt press - basically didnt turn up. They scored 2 very soft goals and then we seemed to realise the game had started.

We bossed most of the remainder of the 1st half and did everything but score the goals we needed! 2 defo pens and a parked bus kept us out. Plus i dont think Ballo whanted to be out there!

Barry was our best player tonite - gutted not to have won but theres plenty more we will if we play like we did in the 70 mins and learn from the first 20!

Sadly the result was a shocker but we out played everton by a country mile.

It was a very frustrating evening but i did enjoy our posession and probing and felt we were the only team in the game.

The stats measure up but the result still stands.Very frustrating

We were way by far the better team on the pitch, but Everton put the ball away. Not the best game I've seen this season and couldn't believe we didn't try to change our tactic of heading into the net from the goal line. Still, not too bad, still in the hunt and the best still to come.

Can we start winning ugly?

I am 100% not one of those who thought we did everything bar win. Although we had tons of the ball I thought our movement and speed of play was poor, our defending was poor ( atrocious at times), the crossing was shocking and generally I just think we lacked ideas.

Did everything right but win.

But we need to find ways to do everything right and still win but that will take time, that's now sunderland, blackburn and everton where we have done everything right but win.

1 point from those 3 games says you are wrong.I sort of know what you mean but if the manager thinks the same as you he might as well leave now. I am sure he doesnt so he doesnt have to leave but he seriously has to solve the problem.

Frickin Hell, how can you do everything right but win. It's like saying 'If that was on target it'd have been a goal'!

We lost, we were out-smarted by a team who were 5th from bottom. It's a learning curve mate and another Bogey Team who've had us over, get over it.

How can you say i am wrong then sort of agree? We battered sunderland, blackburn and everton but weren't good enough to beat them, and i don't get how if the manager thinks the same as me then he might as well leave when i suggested he needs to find a way to do everything right and still win?

All in all a confusing post from you Douglas.

We weren't out smarted, we had a poor start and were punished by a team who only had 2 shots on target and took those chances.

We outplayed them, we out passed them, we created 25 chances and hammered them for 90 mins. We did everything right but win, we were unlucky with the balotelli post chance, could of had a few pens ect. Hopefully sooner rather than later we will be able to break down teams who come and play with 10 men behind the ball and are very disicplined for 90 mins because that is the type of respect we now have.
