Adebayor in the next few hours...

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Adebayor in the next few hours...

Postby john@staustell » Tue Jan 04, 2011 1:18 pm

..will become a Málaga player, according to many stories flooding the Spanish press today. Here is just one. Incidentally stories linking him to Real have a source of 'Daily Mail'! I think those Málaga fuckers are ruining football in Spain.

http://www.fichajes.net/noticias/fichaj ... 10104.html

Adebayor will be the new player of Malaga in the next few hours. The rumour that has circulated the web in the last few hours is at the point of being confirmed. The Andalucian club will have it's star signing as a 'Three Kings Day' present.

According to a report on a local radio station, the club of Sheik Al-Thani will be very close to the signing of the Togolese player Emanuel Adebayor. The Andalucian club is one of the few that is in a position to pay for the signing of the player, and the exit of Adebayor from Manchester City seems imminent.

Malaga will make him their star signing of the season, and he will join a team recently reinforced with Maresca, Baptista, Demichelis, Asenjo and Camacho.

The agreement between the Andalucian club and City is very close, and the player is quite keen on joining a club which aspires to be champions. In a certain way, you could say that Malaga is the Spanish Manchester City.

There continues to be the possibility that Real will stick their oar in the intentions of Sheik Al-Thani, because the Madrid club continues to be interested in the services of the centre-forward. But they would have to be quick because Málaga are working intensely to prepare their best 'Three Kings Day' present

A good move for him.

I honestly think Ade likes being the big fish in a team, he'd have that at malaga.

I honestly wouldn't be shocked if this were true!

Interesting story. Al-Thani is within the Qatari ruling family and a very rich man in his own right. Read a while ago what he was trying to do with Malaga what our Sheikh is doing for us and it may be that we are trading through family means rather than specific football routes.

Could be we're buying Scum then? I'm sure there's a potential for more affordable housing in Stretford once we've closed them down!

A shame that it was a private purchase as the thought of it seems very tempting!

Ade doesn't even make 1 camel, maybe a goat and a box of dates.

The stewards would never allow it.

Good move for him if true. He will not be under too much pressure in Malaga and still get his hefty wages. His career is dead and what little will he ever had has been lost after the incident during the African Nations Cup. I don't think he ever was one of those players who yearned great success on the game. I think he worked his arse off to get in certain level to earn enough to get comfortable life for himself and his family. Nothing really wrong with that either all things considered. It's shame though that he has shown all through his career flashes of natural instincts of a player who could've been truly great.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

I'll always remember one of his goals (though I can't for the life of me remember who it was against) last season where he was sprinting full speed at the defenders while the ball came to him from behind, he took it with one touch on his chest like he had eyes in the back of his head, then volleyed it into the net like it was ballistic missile. I really wish he'd done more of that.
