Tonights Game Is Massive.

If we win get a draw tonight it will, in my eyes, still be a creditable result but if we manage to win it will send out a huge message to all the people out there who are still doubting us: ALL the journos, ALL the TV pundits, ALL the mongs at TalkSport & ALL the fans from the other so-called top four clubs. We have not beaten The Arse at their ground for 34 years but we are destroying all the stats this season and this is another one that could fall by the wayside tonight.
The Arse are definately favourites as we have possibly our best player missing in David Silva and they have an array of talent with a hell of a lot of skill to go with it but they are weak at the back, they concede goals and the result at Eastlands matters not one jot because we played very well for 86 minutes with 10 men.
I am well up for this and pretty confident. Respect is due to the fans who travel to away games on days like this, sing your hearts out for the lads!!

COME ON CITY!!

But in true "typical city" stylee we will be leading and throw it all away..........

CTID!!!!!!!

Sorry, I just don't want to jinx it! I'm really hoping for a 1 nil victory, Kolarov to pull off a superb power goal from way outside the box, he is due one!

As far back as I remember when it really matters we've cocked up:

Boro penalty
Spuds chumps league
Scum CCup
Everton 2011

I guess we can add

Arsenal 2011

Yep. All sore points those, but I'm pretty sure we can turn it around at some stage and actually win one of these LAY A MARKER games. As Bobby says, we have to "change the mentality of the club" and tonight is another chance to do that.

It's by no means the end of our season if we lose, or God forbid, lose badly. Remember we're still on target for top four, still in Europa and the FA Cup hasn't even started for us yet BUT undoubtedly, there's a big chance for us to send out a message tonight. Arsenal have waaaaaaaay more to lose in tonights fixture.

Agree mate. But it is one of those games where a win would put us in a fantastics postion to mount a serious assault. A loss reminds us that we may still have a way to go.

A big game in the symbolic stakes, less so in terms of our chances of winning the league. The press will make a lot of it whatever happens on the basis of the former. We would be still in the mix even if we lose with a lot of games still to play and plenty of chance for all the top teams to fucl up. You could even argue that it would suit City to be under less pressure while we continue to get on with the business of improving.

That said we owe the cheating wankers some payback and i'm confident we are in with at least an equal chance of doing that, especially as i think it will suit us to be away from home just that little bit more. Our defence will be first choice and i'm sure we will look to keep it tight and take our chances when they come. If we can nick a goal it will all start going wobbly very quickly for those twunts.

Huge game, but I don't think we will win it I am afraid, I'd be happy with a point but I fear we will get beat, especially without Silva (and to some extent Balotelli).

Tevez will, in the absence of Silva, drop too deep again, leaving us with no outlet up front.

Eventually we will have to stop cocking big games up, so why not start tonight?

What odds can you get on us to win tonight? (I can't access gambling sites at work)

We could very well bugger this one up. That's what City do best. The difference between now and all those examples is that the mentality of the club is changing. You can feel it. I'm actually confident we can go there and get a result.

That said, I suspect we'll go there and try to contain them. Don't be surprised by a boring, boring City 0-0 display. Which I'd be happy with tbh.

It would be a clever trick if he scored tonight as i don't think he will be playing.

Time for our players to man up, show why we pay them mega dosh and pull a result out of the bag at Arsenal - lord knows we are overdue one, and if we show enough balls and have a go at them at the right times, we can get something here.

A great time for Mr Milner to open his account I think, he's due.

Cheers, that's better than I expected to be honest.

Might be worth a punt.

We just never win those games do we?

That said I said this before the CC quarter final last year and saw my 1st ever semi final. Progress.

I don't see this as a be-all and end-all game, probably because I've already resigned myself to a loss (not pessimistic, just being realistic towards this game). If Arsenal win, they are 1 point in front with a game in hand and even if Chelsea and Spurs win, we're still a minum 2 points in front, although they will still have a game in hand. There's still plenty of playing time to go so the most I see of this 1 game is it being a test, a test of what we can do against probably the best passing team in the league. We've stopped all the rest of the title contenders from scoring with 11 men, let's see if we can do the same with Arsenal on their own turf.

If we win however, that is a totally different matter and we'll see how the other contenders react knowing that we are only going to get better.

Either people have short memories or they have not been supporting us for very long. It is an important game but we have not lost all of them. Gillingham was far more important than most listed as was Blackburn the following season. Some of the Pearce relegation battles were far more important in the overall scheme of things.
Fingrs crossed for tonight though , but win or lose both top place and a finish outside the top for remain distinctly possible.
