Ok so we are going to get slated in the press tomorrow for spoiling the Arsenal party..personally I think Mancini got it spot on with both Silva and Balo out..totally snuffed them out and it was a brilliant point which noone outside the club will give us credit for

onwards and upwards

A bit of both IMO, we would have been a bit more attacking if AJ was on from the start, but with Silva and Balo out it was always going to be a 'digging in' type performance.

Good result in my book.

Can anyone tell me what Arsenal have won in the last 5 years?

After Joe Hart's save from Van Pussy they never looked like scoring. Been a great night, so good tactics.

Happy we got a point but it was negative football - with or without Silva and Balotelli - Jo should never have played and Milner was foto finish alongside Jo.

AJ should have started imo - as soon as he came on we got into the penalty area..something that we didnt do for over an hour.

It was painful to watch at times and I thought we were well off the pace in midfield.

I will take the result thou.

Definately shrewd, I really don't give a shit what the press or anyone else thinks. I can even understand the inclusion of Jo in the starting lineup, though he was crap

And the last thing they won was the worst FA cup final of all time!

This.

Arsenal can have their plaudits, I'd rather have trophies. We're on our way to doing that.

What is for sure is that we cannot start a thread on this forum moaning like little girls about teams who come and park the bus at Eastlands ala Brum the other month.

and it's not like we do it every game, we play some great football the majority of time but playing nice pretty football doesn't win you anything. Playing attractive controlled possesion whilst getting points when you shouldn't at times wins you trophies.

We're on our way

Good result. Pathetic performance.

How many people on here slated Stoke for a lack of ambition yesterday?

Ahh well it wasnt pretty, she had a slight tash but i did it sometimes these things happen.

We did as required tonight. yes it was anti-football but it was pro City and thats what counts. I think we HOPE we can challenge for the title, but we NEED to come top 4 and ideally top 3 so we don't have to qualify. There in lies the reason for our tactics. Not winning the league is not the end of the world but failing to make the top 4 is a huge deal, huge.

Couple this with not having Silva (our best attacker for the last month) and Balotelli (our only scorer outside of Carlos), the fact we had to play Jo and Milner in our front 3 and tonight performance was perfectly acceptable.

Tonight we continue to sit second in the premier league 21 games in (22 for us), thats 6 points clear of 4th and 7 clear of 5th. I'll take that so early in our development. So let MotD, Paul Merson and everyone else bring it on, we sit in 2nd in the table and we sit there on merit.

The end justified the means. It was a risk but it worked, not great to watch tonight but the result was everything.

I can put up with this occasioanlly if we need to do it.

Oh, come on, that's different, Rags are rags, we are City and Stoke had nothing to lose, it's not like they're in the title race, is it?

Boring, boring City

I was the first to criticise Mancini's 'negativity' earlier in the season but I don't think he really had a lot of options tonight - given the tired legs and players missing.

For us oldies though it was great to hear the Arsenal fans chanting "Boring, boring City"

The irony ..............

Big difference was Joke were losing and passing the ball around at the back - had we been behind I´m sure we´d have thrown caution to the wind

You don't even have to be an oldie to remember that FA cup final that Arsenal played against the rags, played for penalties and then won on them.
