Please Go!!!!!! (Micah) [MERGED]

Postby MUS » Fri Jan 07, 2011 6:17 am

Morning all,

i know i will get slated by some for this but...

GO MATE!

I've never liked this arse-hole one bit. Such an average right back. I cringe every time i see his name on the team sheet.

Go to sunderland or tottenham and carry on deluding yourself.

Cheers

Completely disagree, looked like breaking through more than Milner or Jo and when he lost the ball sprinted his arse off to get back.

This is another weird one for me, Micah has been soooooo much better this year, yet new boy Jerome is getting more games despite being shitter than anything Wayne Bridge has ever done with twice as much support.
Tracking back is overrated.

Micah has been playing much better this season, totally agree ... and I do not want to let him go, I believe that he will be a great asset for us going forward. But as we have seen in the past, Mancini is not just worried about performance on the pitch, but attitude as well. This is also the reason why we have not seen johnson starting more matches.

In my opinion, these players need to get their heads down in training, apply the strategies/philosophies that mancini wants to bring to the team AND perform in order to maintain a place in the team. That still does not guarantee a player will be starting game after game. Those days are long gone and when you have the ability to build a squad like we do ... it takes extraordinary play and attitude to hold down a spot for a long run of games.

Micah and Johnson and others need to find this consistency in performance and attitude before they can make a spot in the starting lineup their own.

I don't want any of them to leave, but if attitudes don't change (talking to the press is a horrible idea) they'll go the way of bellamy.

That said KInkyola, do you pick a player who trains harder even if performances hven't been as good?

Tough choice as Micah and Zaba have both sat and watched Jerome do a job less than they would have IMO.

When I'm coaching I always pick what I consider my current best 11, kids that train hard get a shot, but not if week after week they aren't performing on match day.

Fair point lee but ... I don't think the attitude aspect of it can be downplayed. Are you going to pick the hard worker or the tosspot (micah) who doesn't play the way you are setting up the team to play? (johnson)

Sick of players going to the press and venting there issues like this. As he states he has already spoken with Mancini and he should have left it at that.

Yes he has done well this year but Pablo has done even more hence why Zab should be starting ahead of him. As for Boateng I have no clue how this guy makes the 21 let alone the starting 11.

A) It's the fucking S*n
B) with the homegrown rules in place, we can't just be shipping players like Micah off
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

I don't get this at all. He featured for us 17 times this season and only 3 off the bench, and with the squad that we've got, they are decent figures. Does he not notice that if he plays a couple of games on the trot, he starts to tread water and his stamina just isn't where it should be? And what is the reason you've made it back into the England set-up? You guessed it, Mancini and Man City.

Sounds as though he been tapped up by 'Arry or Arsene and has been promised more game time 'cos he sure as hell ain't going to get the response he wants (more game time) by going to the papers with it.

Why go to the Sun?
In the words of my Old Man, "Life will never be the same without Man City, so get it in while you can".

Very important player this season for us imo, as are all the lads who pull on the blue jersey, and much improved from the last two seasons as well.

What fucks me off is him bringing other players into the article too...Nice one dickhead...just give the press more ammunition

We need to get rid...have always said it and I stand by my opinion...weakest link at City...always has been...even when we were shit

Richards could leave

Postby Green & Blue » Fri Jan 07, 2011 9:00 am

Taken from ssn

Manchester City's frustrated right-back Michael Richards has confirmed he wants to leave the club unless he can secure regular football at Eastlands.

The 22-year-old burst onto the scene as a teenager and had been a regular for England, but a loss of form saw him lose his place in both sides.

Richards has been pleased with his displays this term, but the arrival of Germany international Jerome Boateng and the form of Pablo Zabaleta means he remains on the outside looking in.

The Birmingham-born defender has made 10 Premier League starts this term under Roberto Mancini and he has no problem with the Italian, but he now wants to play week-in, week-out.

Richards insists the time has now come for him to play regular first-team football as he is no longer content with warming the bench without kicking a ball in anger.

Ability
"I know people will be reading this wondering why I don't just shut up," he told The Sun.

"City are second and they will say what the manager is doing is working and keeping us fresh but I know my ability and I want to show it.

"I'm not the sort of player who can just sit around and bank his wages. I've got no problem with the club or Roberto Mancini as a manager but he knows how I feel. I went to see the boss and told him how frustrated I was.

"He said I was part of his plans but I went three Premier League games without even getting on, started against Aston Villa, then didn't play against Blackpool.

"Sometimes I'm in, then Jerome Boateng comes in instead, or Pablo Zabaleta, or two of us play. It's in, out, in, out, mix and match.

"I could understand being left out when Mark Hughes was in charge because I wasn't playing that well and was going through a bad time. We didn't have so many good players but I wasn't at my best.

"I wasn't in the team at the end of last season under Mancini either but I worked really hard in pre-season and was determined to become an important part of the team. I feel I've been playing well. I'm confident in my ability and know when my game is in good shape, which right now it is.

"When I first got into the team as a teenager everything was going great but I hadn't really learned the game properly and I sort of crashed for a while.

"But I'm a different person now, I've learned, and I'm happy with my game again. Mancini says I've improved a lot but it's not getting me regular starts.

"I've never really been used to sitting on the bench and not playing and I hate it. I don't feel it's acceptable to me if I'm honest.

Ridiculous
"We've got a ridiculous amount of players, so many in every position who are all top quality and there are plenty of good players who don't get in at all.

"We travel with 21 and three don't even get to be sub. You hope the club understands that they have to let people go and not leave them to rot.

"Players like Shaun Wright-Phillips have been frustrated at not playing as has Adam Johnson. Shaun was told the same thing by Mr Capello that I was, that he needs to get regular football.

"I feel more for Adam, particularly, because he could find himself in the same situation as me and Shaun. He's a young man who wants to be playing too and he has said that a few times this season.

"I love City. I've been there since I was 15 and I got capped by England while playing for this club. But having reached that level I want to keep myself up there.

"This is not me telling the boss, 'you must pick me for every game', I'm just telling it as I feel it. I want to be somewhere where I'm kicking a ball every week."

Would not hate seeing him get a run in a few games, but if Kolarov is preferred at leftback I don't think anyone can justify leaving Zabs out at the moment.

He definately has a point when he says "everyone will wonder why i don't just shut the f**k up"

Behind Zab, It's a close call between him and Jerome, for me. Hope he stays, on the homegrown-rule basis if nothing else

i think he is a complete moron for the way he has gone about this. i like the fact that he hates sitting on the bench, thats a good thing but why do our players KEEP going to the press! the club need to stop this, especially as he has brought a few other players into it.

that said if he goes i'll be sad to see him leave. i really think someone could get themselves a bargain in micah.
