Fuck me!! Don't get creepy with these posts man. My life was crap back then made worse by our league standing.
Seeing the squad quality just reminds me of that.

God we even had DaMarcus Beasley, there is a blast from my WC past!!

Micah Richards
Nedum Onuoha
Joe Hart
Michael Johnson
Kelvin Etuhu
Shaleum Logan

How weird that in such a short time we have managed to move on 32 of those players and only two feature in our current first team. You could probably list Sven's side and the same would be true, we seem like a turnstile.

As we're in the 2010-2011 season, technically it's only 4 years. But you're right, in only 4 or 5 years we have been transformed from a club rife with mismanagement on and off the pitch. From a club whose main concern was avoiding relegation to now, contemplating winning the Title. Amazing.

If this is ruining football then let the ruination continue.

Fuck that, I found an old City mag the other day, 11 years ago we had just signed Tony Grant and Bob Taylor, been beaten off Wolves 4-1 on a cold Friday in December.

Now that's depressing

But all great journeys have a beginning, and I wouldnt change what we went through for the world - it makes the present all the more special

A team for the time and position we were in. We now need a long period of stability, stick by Mancini let this current squad get a couple of years playing together under their belts and bring through a couple of class home growns.

Good times ahead!

It's actually really brings it back looking at that squad.I remember being chuffed to bits when we signed some of those players and so many of them were tragic signings.

I remember now my feelings on signing Corradi.. thinking how it might change things... the goals we might get..

(screeches brain to a halt)

That's quite enough of that memory.

it's 8th jan 2011... it's 8th Jan 2011... it's 8th of...

How good was Laurence Matthewson? Quality player. I remember getting him on the back of my home, away and third kit!

In five years time do you think we will be looking back on our current team sheet and chuckling?

I think it might be possible we'll be looking at the rags squad and having a chuckle.

Watching Corradi's debut on TV is one of the worst moments of my City supporting life. To see that our new signing runs like a duck with no feet in a gale, chucks himself over at every opportunity & is completely unprofessional to go with it, was fucking soul destroying. It was so obvious that he had no purpose whatsoever & the horrific realisation hit home; that I'd probably have to watch the twat for a whole season.

Never mind our squad five years ago, just over a year ago, Mark Hughes was our manager - how embarrassing was that!!!

The only thing I remember Corradi for was knighting Sir Joey with the corner flag. On a par of my only real memories of Macmanaman was him running round the centre circle for 90 mins pointing.

Five years on, we will look back but with fonder memories as the squad now will be the one that takes us on to win things.

Does anyone remember that cracker Corradi scored during the preseason Sven just came in? Aside from that, he was shit. Even though his Street Fighter celebration with Sun Jihai was pretty cool!

I remember going to the preseason friendly when Corradi had been signed, think it was against Sampdoria. We got beat, but that wasn't the worst thing! I saw this Italian guy who was bloody useless and just wondered what the f*ck was going on. The writing was on the wall, i felt, for a batling against relegatin season, yet again, after Psycho had taken us so close to Europe not 12 months earlier.
At that stage I thought that I'd never ever see us win anything again, except promotion. I cannot believe we are the same club and that we are at the beginning of what promises to be a long and prosperous journey!
