There was a reference on another thread about how the old lady was looking for young men ( and I don't mean Rooney) almost every day.

Seriously, it seems that almost ever player is connected to juve, every day. Now which berk put's these things on the Internet, can only be doing it to keep juve in the news.

Firstly, they've got no money, secondly, no top player wants to go there.

Today, chinners will probably post the BBC gossip etc, where Juve are reportedly willing to pay 45 mill for Torres.

Rather surprisingly, none of the main culprits have picked up the news that Toni has signed for them.

Er, Toni and Torres. I can't imagine that.

Thirdly they get about 20,000 on a good day, when I looked it up for our match.

Juventus are in absolute dire state from top to bottom. There is absolutely no way they can fork out top money for top players at this stage. And if they ever plan to reach their former glories they need a real shakedown in the club. Starting with Agnelli family really.

Stories about them spending 45 million on Torres are cheap comedy at best.

Yeah, is Juve's parlous state, the example of how it will be in a few years at the "Theatre of geriatrics ?".

Well, I do agree that few top players want to go there nowadays (think about it, both Nicolas Burdisso and Marco Borriello refused Juve this summer and chose to come to Roma instead...and we're not talking about world beaters here, although they are two solid quality players), but I would disagree that they have no money. They might not have the money we have but they can afford a 30m buy if they so wanted; there are other top clubs in Italy which are in worse conditions from that point of view than them.

I'm not sure about that. Agnelli's have been making MASSIVE losses in their other businesses for years now and I seriously doubt they'd spend 30m at this stage on football operations. They CAN do it but I really really doubt they will.

There's also the point about low gates. While there are Italians that are as hardcore as they come, the football following masses tend to change their allegiances quite easily. You obviously know these things much better than I do but that's the impression I've got over the years. And Juventus, to my knowledge, have been one of the best/worst in this sense. They seem to have always gathered their fair share of fair weather fans (while obviously having very good core support but you know what I mean).

Well, they have spent a fair amount of money this summer with the purchases of Krasic, Quagliarella, etc. Sure, they've sold Diego, and maybe someone else I don't remember now, but what they got from that is more or less half of what they spent; I'm not surer about the figures but I'd say they have already spent around 30m this season; they won't spend another 30 in January (thus the buy of Toni up front, which is 33) but they will in the summer.

As for gates, I agree with you; even in their golden age Juve never filled their stadium, and that's taking into account a lot of glory hunter fans which have now switched to supporting Inter, so now their support through the country has vastly diminshed; but I don't think this impacts their gates too much, their real problem is that their Turin-based support is not so wide, this is why they can't fill their stadium.
