Been very disappointing lately apart from 1 great save againist arsenal.
He was very dodgy againist newcastle and in a coule of other games recently. was totally at fault today.
time to give shay a run for 7-10 games at least, keeps shay at the club and joe can have no complaints

Bolloks...no matter how at fault he was he still made some fantastic saves today...kept us in it.

Why does the end of a game always bring a thread like this to the board? He made a mistake, so did every other City player on the field, don't be so daft

I agree he more than made up for the silly mistake at other times. I also think that irratic nutcase wearing 28 waving a leg at he shot made matters worse.
Shay is history so we need to get rid to give the fella a chance to play for his last few years.

Another classic kneejerk thread once the final whistle goes ... I really wonder about some of our 'fans' at times

Was just gonna say that. Its so fucking predictable.
Result was pretty shit, certain players were below par/not in their favoured position for long periods and switching the formation after SWP went off hindered us.
But the scapegoat thing every game and "lets drop him" is just boring at this stage.

He's fine, he just made a mistake. It happens to the best of players. He just made it at an inopportune time.
Go back to Newcastle and check out the saves he made there.

What an embarassing thread. Scapegoating isn't the word! He made a mistake, at least he did it while we were winning and so we didn't lose. He'll get over it providing morons don't jump on his back, as they have with every other prospective England keeper who has made an error.
Lets not dent his confidence, we want this guy here for his entire career, he can be a legend with us.

Crazy, Given hates crosses.
Joe dropped a big hairy bollock today, it happens to 'keepers, even the best; and Joe is the best in this league, imho.

and whilst we're at it - tevez has been awful last 3 games. we should swap him for DJ campbell who's having a great run at the mo.

Let's see if I get this right...
When Kolo makes a mistake, Hart saves him.
When Micah makes a mistake, Hart saves him.
When Joleon makes a mistake, Hart saves him.
When Zaba makes a mistake, Hart saves him.
If Kompany EVER were to make a mistake, Hart will save him.
But if Hart makes a mistake, no one saves him, and it is 100% his fault. He is apparently awful despite making several saves in the match (which you clearly must have head your head up your ass not to see), they clearly no longer count when he makes a one mistake.

That's the hard life of a keeper; he's the last man and rarely a mistake from him can be saved by his teammates. There are times when a keeper misses the ball rushing out and a defender will clear it, or clear the following shot off the line, but 99% of the time if the keeper fucks up it's a goal conceded.
Hart is not poor, but he made a glaring mistake today. It happens, he will become better because of it as he won't do the same thing again (imo he went on that ball without concentration as it was easy for him to grab)

this is not just based on todays performance. I think shay is the keeper. if shay is not given a chance now he knows he never will get one and will prob leave in the next week or so. then we have a championship run with a very inexperienced keeper and no serious backup.
there is no reason why shay should not be given 7-10 games, something similar to what sven did with james, joe and kasper.

I stll think Shay's a better keeper as well. Not going off any one game, but I think he's more experienced and a cooler head.
I know I'm in the minority, but I would have really preferred to see both Keepers split the games a tad more evenly.
