Think he deserves a mention. Our unsung hero, goes about his job with minimal fuss and seems to have far more drive than he did last season. Doesn't get the credit he deserves.
Not sure we need both him and De Jong on the pitch at the expense of Silva/ Johnson but none the less consistently puts in good performances.

He got caught early on yesterday, dwelling on the ball, but from that point on he was outstanding. Made some great surges forward and was instrumental in our comeback

I have, not saying he is not a good player though.
Lacks the pace that his syle needs to make him really top class, though he is pretty decent. When I have seen him play he plays really well as part of a three man central midfield but looks a bit limited in a two man central midfield IMHO. Sems to have improved his fitness levels this year though.

Playing next to Yaya certainly makes him look fitter!
He's got forward a bit more this season as well, and some of the play between him, Yaya and Silva has been really good. Still think Milner could do the same job as him if required, and possibly would be better going forward.

I'd agree with this. Milner can carry the same load as Barry and is better going forward. Also understands that the game is called FOOTball not HANDball.

He has a top, top ability to be in the right place at the right time for receiving knock downs or a sideways pass from a team-mate in trouble. He marks space very well so that the ball the opposition wants to play is not available. It's subtle stuff. However, when he has a bad game its normally a real stinker :-(

Gareth Barry 78 Kilos my foot !
He's only 1/2 inch taller than me , but i'm slenderly built and weigh 76 kilos wet. He's probably twice as broad as me and he's solid and robust with much more muscle mass. No way is he 12 stone 4. no way. Sure i'm a fit, old(er) man but like i say he's solid.
A few porkies i think , he must be easily over 13 stone.

Agree with all this. He's a real 'cog in the machine' player who makes things work. If the machine is shite, Barry will be even worse, as he was when England fell apart in the World Cup but if the machine is decent, Barry keeps it functioning. If Milner is to replace Barry, he needs to develop that side of the game where he spots problems before they happen & solves them before anyone notices they existed.
Barry needs to be 100% fully fit though. When we played him half fit last season he was poor.

No way at all Barry is over 13 stone. No way at all. Micah weighs 13.08
Crickey can't the club afford a decent set of scales ?
No way is Micah only just over 13 stone. no way, this guy is wider than the proverbial toilet door !
Like I say , i'm a skinny runt and weigh 76 kilos , absolutely no muscle mass or bone structure like our Hulk Micah.
Fourteen stone I could accept. never thirteen.
Btw my scales are Swiss made !!

I've got a mate who goes to the gym who's probably just a bit bigger than Micah, maybe the same size, and last time he checked on one of the machines in the changing rooms he's got under 7% of body fat. He weighs just under 14 stone. He's cut to death but massive. Just because you're big doesn't mean you're carrying a load of fat.
Thanks.
